Just saw it. Wish I hadn't. I enjoyed the special effects, but the acting was pushed and not believable. Johnny Depp has done so much better (and looked much hotter). Orlando Bloom was horrible. (Can he act at all? I'm just wondering. ) Keira Knightly sucked. (How did she get her job anyway?) Geoffrey Rush was the only decent leading actor among them. I did find the scene with the pirates in jail tempting the dog with the keys funny.

It was the best movie I have seen for a long time.

It was real FUN. The movements of Jack Sparrow are caused by anything else but NOT because he is drunk all the time. It must have been due to some ancient injury (like Eric the Half-a-bee)

or Cyril Conolly

Semi-carnally?

I'm writing a novelization of Pirates, just for fun. (Please don't tell me I need to get a life, cuz I already know that)

definitely up there w/ LotR.

that movie inspired me to be a pirate for halloween. hehe. going to go round school singing pirate songs, bumping into people in the hallways, and attacking people who say i look stupid.

I have the words to the pirate song that they sing in POTC. I'll try to post them here for those who want to sing it (don't have them all memorized just yet- 'cept the 'really bad eggs' part, lol).

btw, Evenstar (please don't think I'm trying to be Miss Goody-Two-Shoes, just thought you'd like to know), the quote that's in your sig goes

JACK: "Very well, I confess. It was my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, and then proceed to raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasly black guts out."

(LOL, I love that part- I love the whole movie, in fact )

Orlando Bloom is definately better looking in Pirates. After seeing it, and then seeing him in The Towers, he looks pathetically rediculous in the blonde wig and blue contacts. I like him better with his natural color hair and eyes.
YAY!! The DVD came out! I'm very happy. I can't watch it until Saturday (mom bought it and we all have to watch it together. the rest of the nights this week are busy ) I;m going back to walking around talking like Jack Sparrow again, though. Singing pirate songs and wishing I had a flintlock and a cutlass. Fun fun, can't wait. I'm going to watch it about 50 million times before I ever get tired of this movie.

Johnny Depp WAS great! Orlando Bloom was excellent too (how can he have been horrible? his acting's fine) and Keira was fine and yeah Geoffrey Rush was good.
I think they cast the film perfectly.

Sorry Just sticking up for him

I was humming the soundtrack today and saying savvy and everything lol.

Hm, I thought that Johnny Depp was a great actor, Like always, but I did not think that Orlando Bloom did that good of a job. He was sort of lame, and his accent got really enoying after a while. But the rest of the actors were good.

Well, his accent was a little too British or English or whatever it is, it got on my nerves! I think he could have atleast toned it down a bit, because the way he said things and acted, it did not go together so good. But he is still cute!

Orlando IS British, he natively speaks with a British accent.

His British accent was, IMHO, brilliant.

I have a hard time deciding wether Bloom is a good actor or not, but he did indeed seem a bit lame, compared to Depp (which did an excellent job, so that's not very surprising).

I thought much of the acting was very good (as mentioned, I have some problems with Bloom).

The movie was (again IMHO) very good, and there aren't many good pirate-movies out there (of course, nothing can beat "Pippi Longstocking on the Seven Seas"! )
