well thats good but do you not find that Christianity ristricts you in any way? i mean its more sets of rules... i was just in the Friendmaking thread or whatever it is and someone said this

now dont you think life would be better if you could decide these things for yourself, if you want to smoke, its your decision, you want to look at porn again it should be your choice... thats what i was trying to get at with living by what i think is right and wrong...

Thank you guys very much for helping me! I got a score of 85 out of 100! That's pretty good. I came in (on the test) third place! That's pretty good when you are competing with 42 other girls!

Ohh, I need some prayers. There is a girl at my Youth Group who as quite the (God forgive) snot. And she treats me bad. (like criticizing everthink you do) and I need prayers on this subject. Please pray that I don't break her nose in anger (I did once but I don't want to do it again) and that I find the strength to resist her evil ways.

A bit late, sorry for that, but here goes:

Joshua Gonnerman/Gwaimir Windgem, age 18

1. on a scale on 1-10 what would you rate your relationship with God?

10 would be nice, but probably 6.5-7.5.

2. Has God given you a miracle?

Depends on definition of "miracle". I consider life, faith, and the ability to know Him miracles, as well as much more. As for Divine Intervention type miracles, I somehow feel that the answer is "yes", but I can't remember any specifics. I have been witness to miracles, for those I love, my brother, my mother, and financially for my family (as a group). If a miracle specifically for me, I would honestly probably say Tolkien. Firstly, because he is (to me) so very admirable, so devout, and (more importantly) possessed of such deep faith. Secondly, because he is such a fascinating individual, with so many thoughts, ideas, etc. Thirdly, because he was the first factor which lead me to investigate the Catholic faith, which I know believe that I will espouse, hopefully in the next few years.

3. What was that miracle?

Erm...see above.

4. Are you happy with your relationship with God?

No, not really.

5. Why? or why not?

I always feel that I should closer to Him. I feel that I should walk more deeply in His will, doing what He would have me to do, both in the big picture and in littler things. I also believe that "low church" Christianity isn't right for me, and look forward to the day when I may partake of the Holy Eucharist.

6.Do you "shout it out" about God?

Depends on what you mean. I certainly don't hide my faith, and if the subject comes up, I will certainly discuss it. I don't, however, really believe in door-knocking proselytizing. I feel it is unlikely to do anything but harden hearts, not to mention that it is rather inconsiderate towards people. I would certainly share my faith if the opportunity came up, though, and the other parties seemed willing to listen and interested.

errrr... here's a thought. Why not just go up to her, privately, and point out that you don't like her behavior. You might ask her if there was something you did to make her treat you so badly and if you find that you inadvertently did something to cause the behavior, then offer an appology.

If that doesn't work... bust her face, again. Even if it won't stop the behavior, you will feel better afterwards.

Umm, thanks, I think. She kind of showed ME 'who's boss' cause she told the Pastor and he told my parents and my parents are boss.

I did that already, she said that she doesn't like me because I am a freak of nature and I am a loser. I already apologized about the nose (She has the Owen Wilson thing going on now ) Now she hates me more! And I hate her more for not geting over it! When I told her her behavior was inapropriat, she flung her water at me! Then I (out of anger..I need to stop doing things like this) called her an demon-possesed Neaker-Breaker, and said (to get HER angry) that she lookes like someone hit her in the nose with and Ugly Stick...errr...I might have said that it looks like she took a nose-dive off an Ugly Tree and hit every branch coming down...one or the other, then she tried to slap me, so I grabbed her arm and did a twirl under it and ended in the position where she would think I am pulling her arm out of its socket. (My dad told me that move, he works 4 the military and now I strike before I think.)

I'll pray for you, Silme. I haven't broken anyone's nose, but I've been awfully mad at people. And YOU start praying for HER like crazy! Pray for her to learn kindness, pray for her to be blessed, pray for her family situation, pray for God to help her with whatever is making her be such a brat. That's the best way for YOU to take charge of your anger, and not have the anger be in charge of YOU. When you're mad at her, pray for her good, and for God to help you to be a blessing to her, and for God to help you have patience and understanding. Otherwise your anger over her will dominate YOUR life.

ps - how old are you, Silme, if you don't mind my asking?

I will pray for you too Silme, I have known a couple people like that and (and I certainly felt like I could bake their nose) they can make life so hard. Have you tried talking to your Pastor or your parents? One thing that worked for me was to just smile and be nice (which was really hard) when they said something mean to me. They soon saw it didn't bug me and they stopped. I hope everything works out!

And remeber, everything must be done out of love.

That was why I stopped going to Youth Group. The people there either hated my guts or didn't know (or care) that I existed.

Remember, Ru, that these are young Christians, and have some learning to do.

Sorry to hear about the troubles, Silme and GSoM - going to youth group was very hard for me, too, because I was so shy. If you can, try to stick with it, and pray for those that are difficult to be around, and learn what you can, and you can even look at it as an opportunity to minister to others. I hope you can also find a few good friends in the bunch to have fun with and encourage each other and set a good example for those that have trouble.

I know that often when I'm in a big group, it's a "drainer" as opposed to a "filler". My "filler" time is with a group of 6 Christian women that are loads of fun and very loving and really committed to growing in their Christian faith and walk. Then I can minister to others, since I've been "filled" and encouraged. It's very important to minister to others, as well as being ministered TO.
