Evelyn noticed there was something wrong with Calyniel. She wasn't just going into the carriage by herself for privacy. What had she said? Evelyn ran through her conversation with Padroot...manage to spy out for myself. Calyniel was a spy...but Evelyn hadn't meant anything personal. What was the matter? Of course, she had let her running mouth say something it ought not again. Evelyn glanced over at Padroot who was digging her hole. She decided that she had said something wrong and she had to make it right.

Evelyn knocked softly on the carriage door and let herself in. She climbed in carefully, and sat beside Calyniel. "Er--I'm sorry. I really didn't mean anything by it." she was still confused, and her mind was working furiously as it always did, trying to figure out what had touched Calyniel the wrong way. Evelyn wouldn't have minded making Padroot mad, or nearly anyone else, but she liked Calyniel, and now she had said something stupid.

Wait...there was something in the back of her mind. That time she eavesdropped on Kirsinari and Calyniel. Something tragic, something went wrong. Something had happened to Calyniel's partner...Edrick, Emin, Elya...some thing like that. Was that why she was so upset? Evelyn didn't feel in the slightest uncomfortable, though she did feel somewhat guilty at making her upset.

IC: Dulin stood next to Orodroch confused and sad at the same time. He watched as a sad Calyniel ran into the carriage as she was quite insulted by something the farie had said.
The farie followed her into the carriage trying to figure out why she was so upset and left Dulin with Padroot who was busy digging a hole for a reason Dulin still couldn't figure out.
Dulin decided he would wander around the forest for a few mintutes and figure out what he would do next. He wanted to find a safe resting place just incase the group decided to rest here for the night. Normaly Dulin would copntinue on his journey through the night if it weren't for the people he was with who needed the sleep and Orodroch who did not move through the night not enjoying the prospect of travbeling through a time when he canot see ahead of him.
Dulin clambered up the nearest tree without trouble and climbed to the top. At the top he had a view of the paths ahead and in the far distance more villages and the catsles. He could vene see more hobbit like creatures rowing boats down the slither of streams.
He smiled. He would stay here the the night and keep a watch out for his fellow travelers to make sure noboday reached their camp unoticed.
He climbed back down and met up with the group again.

padroot enjoyed people trying to get her, but she didn't enjoy people who were to afraid to ask what was on there minds because they were to afraid of looking like a fool.

after her hole got about sixfeet wide and six feet deep she looked around content. she reached deep down in her favorite baggy cape and grabbed out her wooden flute. she sat in the middle of the hole play the begenning of a complicated song. soon an array of colors floated around her, weaving in and out of each other, building a complicated pattern. soon it grew larger and larger untill it was a large dome over the hole. at the last note she let ot it suddenly materilized and became a sturdy hut.

Treebeard the rest

(occ: i am back the computer was kicking me off so i got on another one.)

Soon Padroot had her horse unpacked and her stuff in her hut. She had started a fire forgetting about all the others around her, when they spoke to her she didn't hear them- she had a job she had to finish. she went into the forest and caught a few rabbits (a skill she learned from her younger years.) and soon had them skinned, rubbed with herbs, and roasting. She looked over to the carrage proud of her hard work and saw that the younger females were together. She wondered how long they were there. She had a sudden urge to console caylinel because all she has been through, but padroot knew that she had to let calyniel get through some of it on her own before she could lend her wisdome. So she decided that she will do something else for the young girl (a once in a life time thing i warn you) she went into her hut, sat on the finely woven silk blanket and went into a deep trance.

Soon she reached a plane far from where her phsical body was. she started looking for some one. 'ah, there she is' she thought to her self, then she tried to contact kirsanari and have her go to this plane. She spoke of the importance that kiranari had to get to this plane. that she could not speak to her untill she was there. In padroots mind she hoped kirsanri would respond and come; for calyniels sake.

Calyniel turned her head slightly, peeking one eye over her knee, suddenly very uncomfortably aware of her sudden expression of emotion--something she almost never did. She smiled sadly at Evelyn. "It's not your fault. You couldn't know most of what happened. In fact, I'd be very surprised if you did." She then fell silent, thinking.

Tavin had turned away the moment Calyniel had answered him. He didn't care what they thought of him any longer. It had been too long since he'd ever really taken on any responcibilities for Kiri, and he didn't feal like screwing up in the first cupple days since being reinstated. As long as they didn't make any trouble, or try to leave, he didn't mind them being around.

He just wanted to speak with Kiri again, see her reasuring face once more in front of his own. Memories weren't always enough for him. One thing he did know whas that no matter what, they had to stay here at the encampment and he needed Kiri to get back as soon as possible.

Let the woman sleep in the dirt if she wanted to. If she wasn't going to show him any respect, he wouldn't show her any more than nessicary. Dulin was a man Talwren felt he could trust. So if he was to ask for a place to sleep inside, he'd be welcome in Tavin's quarters if nowhere else.

A good deal of Westlanders hsd been turned aside and beaten in the past few years. But none would dare touch Dulin if Tavin had anything to say about it. Then again, the man seemed to be of the state of mind as the wandering Telokin. He'd be able to take care of himself.

As he walked out later that day, he saw the woman in her dug out spot, pulling out a wooden flute and sat down in the middle of it. Dispite his earlier misgivings, Tavin was interested in what she'd have to play before the sun set. He tended to judge musicians on what music they plaied. Usually, the music that they plaied told all, especially in the way that it was plaied.

As she let the notes flow, a shield of manny different colors were woven about her, expanding to just beyond the edges of the pit she'd dug, sealing all around from the bottom upwards, finally comming to a dome. Even if he had not seen the magics she wove about herself, his heart would have been changed towards her compleatly at just hearing the music.

Knowing now that she was a woman with her own agenda, but not opposed to their own cause, he felt slightly guilty towards how he'd acted, but reason set in. He was only doing his job earlier.

Calyniel was being escorted by Evelyn into the perminent encampment. He couldn't do much to console her. He barely knew the greater part of Kirsinari's agents, mostly because they were all usually dispatched here and there all over Rathlas.

Evelyn was beinginning to show more and more progress. It was amazing at how quickly she'd learnt. In three days she'd learned the skills it had taken manny to learn in three years. Whatever it was with Ranareth blood, he liked knowing that it was on their side as well. When Kirsinari returned, he wished to bring that knoledge to her attention, ask if Evelyn would be put through the final tests early. Somehow, he had the faith that she'd pass with an exceptional score.

Somehow, he knew that she'd done this before. Perhaps not in this life, but that didn't say anything about the last.
************************************************** ********

Kirsinari stood her ground as the formless black mass before her tried again and again to enter into her mind and soul. Eventually, the mass took on the shape of a rather large cat. The two batled on, eventually it let her go. Only when she was as good as dead.

Lying there near the rushing Alanita, she felt the pang of thirst gnawing at her after the first few houres, but couldn't muster the strength to move a few feet to the river bank. An hour more, and Kirsinari's body had lost conciousness.

Her true form, however, senced a tugging sensation towards the upper vibrations. Following it, she saw the marker of an elderly looking woman awaiting her there. Never before had she seen this woman, but it was definitly this woman who was calling her.

"I am Kirsinari, Fala Naera of Rathlas, Daughter of Onem." she stated, her spitit self well dispite her physical self.

"Lostyia Delr-Padroot." the woman replied. "Bearer of a piece of what you seek."

"Have you called just to taunt Lostyia?"

"Please, just Padroot." the woman smiled. "And no, I have not. I am with Cylaniel, and the traveler which you sought. We have met with Talwren Davion and he has not turned us away, though I believe it is only because of the pieces to the Key. Cylaniel has information that you must hear."

"If you haven't noticed, I'm at a bit of a dissadvantage when it comes to movement at the moment." she gestured to an immage of herself as the wolf lying near the river. "My power is almost gone. To go to you would spell death for my physical self."

"I can bring you to us." the woman said knowingly. "You must come here one way or another."

"I need to speak with Talwren Davion first." she said. "Take me to him, and we will speak in the morning."

************************************************** ********
Dawn was still a ways off when he awoke. A soft whining sound came from the doorway into his tent. It was a pityful sound, like a puppy in pain. Opening the flap, he was half way right in what he'd thought.

A large dog lay there on it's belly, torn and bleeding all over so that it's markings were compleatly unrecognizable, especially in the dark. He wasn't sure if it was a dog owned by one of the men, a stray, or one of the wild dogs of Pheraya, but there was no way he was going to let it just lye there.

He ran back into his tent and scrounged around for an old blanket, finding only a few large towels, he decided to make do with a thiner one to cover it's eyes, and a thicker one to lift it with. Turning back, Tavin saw that it had managed to crawl a little ways more inside, getting dirt smeared into it's wounds even more.

Once he had her inside, Tavin took the basin and pitcher of water he'd kept over to the small area where the floor was earthen by the wall and did his pest to clean her up without causing her any more pain, all the while calling her by the name Daera, the Old Nedarin word for child, but he pronounced it in the ancient manner, sounding more like Dah-ham-mehra-hya.

Doing his best to dry it off, he mooved it into another set of towels and placed it on the mat by his bed where it would be warmer for the rest of the night. But, as soon as the worse wounds were beginning to scab over, she insisted in climbing in the bed under the covers beside him. Dispite not being one to sleep with a strange dog, he felt pity toward it and let her in anyway. Besides, he had another set somewhere.

When he awoke in the morning, however, it was not a dog that slept soundly at his side. The woman cuddled next to him was only barely recognizable through her scabbed skin. The rags she wore were recognizable as the clothing and bag Kirsinari had taken with her when she left for Wasim. The woman opened her eyes and looked into his, leaving no doubt in his mind that it truly was Kirsinari, clothes torn from whatever had almost killed her before.

"Kiri?" he pulled her clocer.

She whinced and gave a small cry at his touch. He pulled away just as fast and began tearing away the dirty clothes she wore, then pulled her over to where he'd been sleeping so that the sheets touching her were realatively cleaner.

"Shh," he kissed her forehead in a place where only a branch had caused the slightest scratch. "You'll be all right."

"Tavin," she groaned softly. "Get Padroot... get her and Evelyn, Cylaniel, and Dulin. Bring them here. You stay too. Please..."

"Yes, Kiri," he said, resisting the urge to pull her into his arms for fear of hurting her even more. "Anything!"

OOC:
Ps, just got that back at the ooc. I haven't been on in a while due to testing and other things, so I read that first, then came here. Thanks!

"C'mon, let's go inside. No use in hiding in the carriage when we've got real shelter." Evelyn said encouragingly to Calyniel. Evelyn was mostly blunt all the time, not rude but she liked to tell it how it was. Now she was trying to be as nice as possible, which she found came easier than she thought. She climbed out of the carriage and walked with Calyniel to their encampment.

"I wish Kirsinari would get back already. I can do battle, or travelling, but waiting drives me out of my mind." she fidgeted at the thought of it. Constantly over the last day she had been tugging at her small necklace that she always wore to keep her hands busy when they weren't doing anything. She always had to be at work, or she would go crazy.

She settled down on her small cot and sat looking at Calyniel. She must be pretty strong to be able to go right into the enemy's camp like that. Evelyn liked open battle, she didn't mind sneaking around or eavesdropping, which she was very good at, but spying must be nerve-wracking. She was starting to think about how hungry she was when she saw Talwren walk in, his face looking urgent.

"At least you have something to wait for." Calyniel muttered. While I have nothing, she added to herself. No purpose. Nothing.

She looked up when Talwren arrived. He looked worried. Oh no she thought. What is it this time? But she stood up anyways. "Sir?"

"To my tent, quickly!" he said, pulling the throw blanket clocer about himself as he only had on a pair of thin night pants. He didn't care how od he looked to them, just that Kiri had what she needed.

It took him a while longer to find Dulin, but the odd animal sitting under the tree was his first sign. After sending Dulin allong, he went back to the odd tent that the old woman had erected.

He didn't dare just walk right in on her, but chose to stop and knock instead.

(occ: my weird hut is actuall a magically fabricated hut. i am fond of huts and inns.)

As padroot walked from the forest early, sleep deprived and hungry she saw the second in command knocking on her entrance. "who you looking for?" she said spooking the poorly dressed man.

"um, you." he said matter of fact "kirsanari..."

"she's ready." padroot cut him off. "she in your tent?" she asked expectingly.

takin' off guard by her comment he stummered only a yes. she whisped her cape and turned towards his tent. her hair was down under her hood and no longer was she in a dress but in tight skin leather showing her figure which was covered by her four sizes too big cape.

As she entered his tent (with out knocking nothing less) she saw the group in a circle waiting for a few more. she then sat a basket of herbs and food in the middle. "before we start, we need to eat. i assure you at times we will not be able to have this luxuriy(sp). second kirsanari , she looked expectantly to the lady eat yours with these herbs they will help you heal faster. then turning away as if she would here nothing in response and started handing out fresh barries, roasted rabbit from last night bread and etc.

(occ: time for some one else. )

Calyniel rushed to the tent as soon as Talwren had left. When she arrived, she saw that Kirsinari was there, but hurt. (OOC: How bad does it look? I mean I know it's bad, but how obvious is it?) She turned away momentarily, then looked back. "You called for us?"

When Padroot arrived, Calyniel took a slice of bread, but didn't eat it, only holding it, barely aware that it was there at all. She still wasn't quite sure she trusted the stranger who "rescued" her, besides her mind wasn't on food.

ooc: Been VERY busy lately.

ic: Dulin was called down from his tree and took one more look at the distant lands to make sure all was safe for teh night and joined the people who called him down.
He was led, along with Calyniel towards a tent that had been brought up by Padroot and trhey entered. Padroot presented them with food but he did not take a bite. He did trusts wizards adn that included witches in his book. He noticed that Calyniel did not take a bite of her meal as well and felt that this strange lady must be new to her as well or else Calyniel takes a very longer time to turst someone then he though.
He turned to her and whishpered, "What is wrong M'lady?"

occ: I love your icon, Sirci. Very llama.

ic: Evelyn stared at Kirsinari for a moment before plopping down on the floor. She glanced up at Padroot who was tending to her hastily. For a moment she forgot her hard feelings towards her and asked, "What happened? Is she going to be all right?" She hastily stuffed the bread she was handed into her mouth, though she noticed Calyniel and Dulin didn't. Stupid faerie. You barely know the woman–but she is helping Kirsinari and seems to be the only one who knows what's going on.

Evelyn's fingers were busy twitching with her necklace as she waited expectantly for someone to say something. What could have happened to Kirsinari? She was ripped up badly...their leader. "Is there anything I can do, Padroot?" she asked after a moment of feeling odd while sitting there.

OOC: It could just be me, but wouldn't think that spies would be inclined to trust people very quickly. But, I just remembered that Dulin doesn't know that she's a spy... does he?

IC:
Calyniel started playing with the bread nervously, kneading it, and tearing at it. Here was the person she needed to report to, but she was hardly in a condition to take the message. And, now that it came to it, Calyniel wasn't sure she wanted to get this goal over with... what could she do once she'd delivered her message. She couldn't go back, that was certain. So, she just sat there tearing at the bread waiting to see what would happen.

OOC: Nope Dulin doesn't know your a spy.....yet.

IC: Dulin stared shocked as Calyniel all of a sudden tore at the bread in her hands and decided to give her his too. He didn't need to it like all elves. he only did it for pleasure. Instead he took out some honey wine from his bag and took a few sips to get the sweet taste into his mouth. It warmed him up at once and he smiled dreamely.
Dulin then went out and offered some to Orodroch who refused and went back to sleep in annoyance.
Dulin returned to the tent and asked once more what the meeting was all about since nobody payed him any mind last time (Ethuliel )
He sat down on his llama fur rug and waited. As he waited he started to play tricks with the fire by making it shift without wind and turning it different colours that glowed brightly and warmly. He even started to make the smoke dance around the tent in animal shapes until one of them ran into Padroot and she turned angrily at him and he stopped. ( only because the smoke made people cough of course)

OOC: I'm sure he'll find out by the time this meeting is over, but not yet. And I'm sorry about seeming to ignore your question, I just read it too fast and didn't notice it. oopsies. I guess we can pass it off as her nerves, but I'm really sorry. And now she's just brooding anyways. Um... I don't think there's any way to get her to stop, unless maybe someone talked to her, but I don't think Dulin would, since I've been such an insensitive idiot. And I'm just rambling.

IC:
Calyniel continued to tear at her bread, not even realizing that she was now tearing Dulin's as well, and watched the smoke figures until they disapeared.

OOC: And I think we need Kirsinari to say something.

OOC: Sorry I haven't been on in a while, but I'm not exactly where I was two days ago either. Yesterday, we had a 2 hour delay for school and my dad and grandfather pulled in about ten minutes after I usually leave out in the morning. we left for MI an hour after I got back from school, and I'm here at my step-mom's for a few days.

Yes, Kirsinari is pretty well banged up and bloodied. Because the creature almost matched her in strength on more than one level, she barely escaped.

ic:

"I don't know yet," Padroot replied, looking over one of the more nasty cuts on Kirsinari's forehead.

"I've suffered worse." Kirsinari tried to push herself up, not quite willing to be a patient any longer.

"What happened, Kiri?" Talwren asked.

"When I knew that at least one of the pieces was within Cylaniel's reach, I tried to contact her, but the contact was broken off suddenly. I knew that I had to go to her if I couldn't touch her mind. When I got there, they were gone, and another was waiting.

"Do you remember the rumour of the nine kings who fell to Bathsham's lord?"-some nodded, some looked puzzled, and it was immidiatly obvious that Dulin knew of whom she spoke when he stiffened for a split second-"They were not the only ones. Five others here in Rathlas fell to the very same ruse. Four of them became wraiths like the nine, but Nerador did not fall. I believe that it was one of the four who attacked me yesterday."

Talwren thought on it for a moment. He'd only heard his father speak once of the fallen Kings of Men in the West Lands, and the four of Rathlas. Nerador, it was said, had not fallen because he'd never really laied eyes on the trinket sent to him from the lord of Bathsham. It was given instead to his son Iandarin who fled to Farna Sillilin after Nerador's death.

His mother, however, had warned him never to follow the paths known to have been taken by Iandarin, lest he happen upon this trinket. But Talwren had never listened to her, and had pourposely followed Iandarin's path and found himself bound to Kirsinari.

"I am," Kirsinari spoke reluctently. "certain that the one whom attacked me was Iandarin... my own son." She smiled knowingly at Talwren. "I never told you because I feared you'd think worse of my cause. There is something else that I have not told any of you.

"The reason for the deminishment of my powers is because of Iandarin's fall. Only of the Key is placed back together successfully, away from Areanna's grasp, will my true self be restored.

"What have you all to say to this, that I am not only the sister to Rathlas' betrayer, the mother of one of the fallen, and deminished far beyond them so that I am little more powerful than a talented Kishin mage?" she asked them.

Padroot looked at her and couldn't help herself she bursted out laughing.
"A talented kishin mage, please i hope your not refering to me, because i am anything but.... You sound as if it was such a horrid secret, well let me tell you its not. So a boy with no self control came and hurt his mom, well all i can say is he needs to grow up, and so you want the stone so you have more power. Did you ever think, maybe fate needs you to be less of power for the time being. I mean, seriously, you sound like a person already defeated." she turned around and looked into the circle with a genuinesmile on her face.

Then suddenly she got serious, her eyes turned to a cold black and she turned to one specific person. "Kirsani, there are more important things than you. So stop being so selfish. Its obvious we need that stone together, but not just for you. Next," she turned and faced the individuals and in a voice all to its own she spoke. "Thing is i am not here permantly, its for a short while, so don'lt be expecting me here for you all to count on all the time. but as long as i am here we, no i ,and who ever decides to join, are not sitting ducks. That is i wont let us be sitting ducks. This is what i am going to do: First i am going to get this place safe, because there is going to be a battle here and we need to be prepared. next, i am going to wait untill my friend shows up. After he does i am taking calyniel with me and we are going to meet with Areanna. Yes, Areanna, we need every part of that stone possible and she has some peices." with that she left the tent and went into her hut.

the people left in there all had shocked faces.
(occ: time for someone to take over)

Calyniel stared openmouthed at the tent flap as it swung closed. "Did she just--?" She shuddered. "I can't talk to her! I can't let her see me."

OOC: You're nuts!! Completely mad!! Out of your mind!! Absolutely crazy!!
