Oh, is there a discussion about the pronunciation of jaguar? Or just a confusion between the jaguar with the spots and the jaguar with the horse power?

Which has relatively short legs and a long body, with a large skull. Physically, it most closely resembles the jaguar, although it is usually smaller and of slighter build. Its fur is marked with rosettes which lack internal spots. = Leopard

That's the metric name, but we in the US still call it an ounce.

Well done, Earn! U may continue.

This large, solitary cat has the greatest range of any wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere,[3] extending from Yukon in Canada to the southern Andes of South America. An adaptable, generalist species, it is found in every major American habitat type. It is the second heaviest cat in the American continents after the jaguar, and the fourth heaviest in the world, along with the leopard, after the tiger, lion, and jaguar, although it is most closely related to smaller felines.

Or all of the above in one.

So how many ounces go in this whiskered ounce? (I still find it a terribly funny name for a cat.)

Approximately 1760.

And yes, it's a hilarious cat name. I found it first in Shakespeare, where it just confused me for a long time...

Which is a medium-sized wild cat that ranges from southern Texas in the United States south to South America. The average length is 65 cm (30 inches) with 45 cm (20 in) of tail and a weight of about 6 kg (13.2 lbs). It has short legs and an appearance somewhat like an otter; the ears are short and rounded. The coat is unspotted, uniform in color, and varying from blackish to brownish gray (gray phase) or from foxy red to chestnut (red phase) in this latter phase it's also called the Eyra. = Jaguarundi
