Home..
.. after five days in the capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen! It has been a wonderful time.. I've learnt so much!
I went to a Nordic LGBT youth-conference on wednesday, and came home a couple of hours ago.. I'm seriously considering helping the guy I went with start a LGBT youth-organisation in Finland.. I'm so inspired now. And tired. Been partying every night, and sleeping far too little..^^ We didn't only work and party, we also got to see the city: Christiania, Tivoli and the new opera, among many other things. A lovely trip again!

Wow, exciting life there, Nerdanel!
Well, I have to share with my favorite people (Mooters! )....my boss told me a bit ago that the 'word' is I'm going to get a promotion ($!$!$!) this summer! I'm being transfered to a different office (over near Lake Ontario) also this summer to coincide with the promotion...cool.

I'm happy because I went to a St. Vincent de Paul Society College Conference today with students from 20 highschools from around Victoria. It was inspiring to say the least and revived my passion for social justice. We've come back with a tonne of ideas for fundraising and actively helping out in the community. Wonderful day. |

Wow. We haven't been very happy in a while, have we?
I'm finally getting everything ready to head to college in the fall, so I feel much less stressed. One of my competition dances was just finished tonight (the comp. is tomorrow)... so I'm very happy because at the last competition we took it to, I had to improv. thirty seconds of it. So, again, I'm much less stressed. EDIT: Oh, yes, and my final paper for AP Euro. was reduced today from ten pages to eight... and I was at Six Flags all day instead of school and had a marvelous time. 'Kay, now I'm done. I know, Huh! I'm happy because I'm alive, I'm not in prison, and my boyfriend loves me unconditionally.

The BIG RACE is today! Cub Scout Pinewood Derby!!
We start with a kit that contains: a small block of wood with slits for axles pre-cut, 4 wheels, 4 nails (to serve as axles) and some short instructions. You design and cut out the shape of car you want, prime and paint it, put the wheels on, then add weights to bring it as close to 5 oz as you can (no going over!) - lessee, I think that's about 140 kg for you metrics out there. Then we race 'em! That's tonight! I have to admit, daddy got into this a bit more than our little scout. Our son is in the youngest group of scouts - called Tiger Cubs - so we painted it with a tiger motif - orange with dark blue stripes (orange + blue are the tiger cub colors - not just those of the Fighting Illini! ). I'll let you know how it turns out.

Oops! I'm forgetting MY metric!
That'd actually be 140 grams I guess... for some reason I thought it needed a prefix. So... I was a few decimals off - just the flaws inherent in the Metric System.

Fun it was, but much to learn have we!
We tied for 14th of 24 cars. It was a blast though. Each round had eight 3-car races, I helped judge the finish line and tabulate the scores. They did 15 rounds. My son was excited each time his car even got second in a race (most of the time) and was jumping up and down when he won a race (three times I think - all in a row in the later rounds). So... back to the drawing board... for next year!!
