Brownjenkins, of course you got the Winslow Homer! It's one of his famous ones, called 'Breezing Up,' from 1876. It's at the Nat'l Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. That Kienholz one - in one of my art history classes a while back, we briefly touched on Kienholz, and it would have been truly a miracle if I'd been able to recall that tidbit from my memory banks. But I DO remember Kienholz, now that I've been refreshed here! Thanx 4 that one; it was a good one.
Brownjenkins, you feel like giving us a painting to guess? Pretty please! Shah - here she is, it's Rosa Bonheur, and thanx 4 that one, too; I just learned about a new woman painter! I LOVE learning more about the women in art. I never knew about her. That horse painting is the bomb. French, 1822-1899 The Horse Fair, ca. 1852 Oil on canvas, 10 1/2 x 25" Elisabeth H. Gates Fund, 1927 |

Lotesse, if you show up anytime soon, you post one. You usually get some good ones that people can actually guess.

Oui!! C'est vrai, Gaffer; I'm so glad someone guessed it. It's one of my favourite of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's -

mmmmm... one of my favorite painters of all time... in fact, just last Sunday my sister and I played a game: name your top 5 artists.... this one placed number 2, right after Motherwell
I'm playing coy and not naming yet, because I want to give others a chance... but GREAT pic, Gaffer! |

Which one? Archie McPherson?? In any case, incorrect.
Also one of my top 5, Hasty. I saw this one in a shop window and just had to buy it. (well, a print of it). Must check out Motherwell (which is a town in Scotland, and SPL soccer team, in my experience) |

Hey, is anyone else gonna put up a new one? Well, in the meantime, I'll post one - it's quite famous; surely someone will be able to guess it.
