Oh well. You do what you gotta do. I'm sure it will be good for my inflated ego if I do get the job . Nothing to remind you that you are not the center of the universe like picking up carts after people and, I can only assume, probably cleaning up after the baby in row 5 and cleaning the bathrooms. :P
He's a trick from someone that works at Wal-mart. Keep calling them back until they get so tired of you calling they hire you. Worked for me.
Also what did you put in the app that your availability was? Open availability can really get you the job, but when college starts back up you can change it. MostmManagers will work with you around your schooling. Unless your Wal-mart is the worst store...

Ok, now for the real reason I came in here:

Why do people try to tell you how you pratice your religion? Everybody I know keeps telling me I need to find a church. The only church I ever liked is a good hour or so drive north from my house. And with the consturction they're doing on the freeway leading to aid church I'd have to get up at 5 am to get to the 10 am service on time.

Just because someone doesn't have a home church doesn't mean they don't believe. They are not going to go to hell just because they doing dress up and go to a building where someone stands in front of a group of people and preaches the Word of God. They are not going to go to hell because they don't give excatly 10% of their income.

People should be free to worship however they please, wither it's in a church, in a car, in their house or where ever. I seemed to have missed that in the Bible where it said you have to go to church to be considered a Christian.

It really irks me when people try to force you to worship the way they do. And don't get me started on the ones that call themselves Christians...

Well, actually, Hebrew 10:25 does say, "Not forsaking the assembly of the brethren together".

I think that that's because the Church is the Body of Christ, and to enter the church where other members of the body are spiritually united to you, you enter the presence of Christ more intimately. The Body of Christ is also supposed to function as one entity, all its members supporting one another, rather than as a bunch of lone wolves. We are one unified entity, so we come together to be one and worship has one. As Jesus prayed that we may be one as he and his Father are one.

Though the lone wolf picture is super-cool in fantasy worlds .

This is how I'd see this as functioning in a Protestant setting. There are good reasons. It's not about the building. It's about the unity of the Body of Christ worshipping and hearing God together, being one in the world just as we will outside the world, rather than multiple separate entities. Tis about spiritual unity, IMO.

In a Catholic setting there are even more reasons to attend, of course . . . I never really grasped how important being united at church was until I became a Catholic and everything became 20x more vivid.

I don't mean to create a big tangent in the thread here, of course. I'll shut-up now . Unless I respond further in Theology III.

My point was I have never seen in the Bible where it says "Thou shalt burn in the Fiery Pit if thou does not attend Church" or anything similar to that.

In that same vein, isn't it funny when people agree with you because you give them a good answer, but if they knew the full depth of what you were saying they wouldn't agree just because it's not what they want to hear? But in truth, they agree with you... just they don't realize they do.

Notes to self:
1) Do not trust people with job agencies to find you a job
2) Spare a minute to pump some extra air in your tires before you have to leave
3) Do not trust people with job agencies to find you a job
4) Do not make a sharp turn at high speed with nearly flat tires
5) Do not trust people with job agencies to find you a job
6) Do not feel guilty when people are upset with you for not being perfect
7) Do not trust people with job agencies to find you a job
8) Learn to say no.

Sorry to hear your visit to the job agency didn't go well, Mari.

Mine wasn't worth anything either, I'm still angry with them for calling only months later when I had long found work on my own, with a job offer in the field I specifically said not to look for. Nor did I enjoy having that woman lie (!) to me, saying they had called me with an offer before. WTF, lady I think I remember who calls me, thank you very much. It's not like I get called daily with job offers for me NOT to remember something important like that...

Really, sometimes you're better off job-hunting without those people...

I don't know if the venting thread is the right place for this.. Is there a confusion thread somewhere? X)

Anyway. There's this great person, one of my closest friends, who I love dearly and think I might have fallen for. This seems to be a mutual feeling. We've been acting like a couple for quite some time, and we both enjoy it. Still, we don't consider ourselves a couple, which somehow restricts us and our public behaviour. We're just too stubborn, both of us; the thing is, I won't have any kids and he wants kids, and as we're such good friends, we respect each other's choices and want the other one to do what they've decided to do.
Somehow it feels so surreal, though.. I'm 22, and the reason why I won't get into a relationship is because we have different ideas about having children. Is it wise or just silly?

And now I'm back at the zoological station that I hold so dear, and I wish I was back in Helsinki. Blinding disease, this..

Hum. It's possible that mutual esteem and respect would lead to a fine marriage. But it doesn't sound like 22 to me, you know?

For me, I had a couple of friends who were together for about 20 years. She knew she didn't want children, but he wasn't sure, so he never had the operation (which he offered). They didn't marry, but they weren't really that type, anyway.

After 40, she ran off with his bff and they split up...and both of them were married within a year.

I don't know what their POV on it would be. But my observation is that now, they're really HAPPY, instead of content, and I think children born to either of them would have been lucky children.

It's not your 'public behavior" that concerns me so much, although I favor being widely acknowledged and shown off, personally. I think I'm something to boast about.

It's that I think that while there's room for caution in learning someone, there's also a certain *snap* that happens, sometimes beyond what you think is your better judgement. I'm not hearing that *snap* in your voice, and I'm afraid when someone hears it there will be a lot of polite untangling to do...and also that ethical people who might be those people for y'all won't introduce themselves because you're 'mated.'

I'm sorry this is somewhat lousing up your return to the station.
