1.9 sounds like the Kintyre penninsular. Actually just about all Scottish peninsulars are accessed by a tarbet, as it was I think defined as a piece of land narrow enough to drag a boat across. Suppose it depends how big your boat was....
Made the mistake of booking a holiday there once. Quite possibly the dullest part of Scotland.
