Ok, ok. Actually, I guess that makes more sense now.

Say, I was cleaning out my cupboard in my room just now, and I came upon one of my own short stories which contained this bit of dialogue:

"Speak no more. Words are useless to you now. You are about to die."
"Is that so, my precious?"

It was a funny story, although it was written totally seriously. Maybe too seriously.

Oh, you should sleep well in Japan, at least for the first few days when your bodies clock is out of whack. Afterwards, it's going to be easier and I think more regulated. It will be most interesting for you and hopefully for the host family.

..as you wish....

'morning, all. Katya - Japan! That sounds infinitely interesting! I have a friend who went to Japan to teach English there, she's got some stories. Tell us all what it's like when you get there!
Boy, I need an espresso. Is the machine warmed up?

Anduril, I'm curious - what time is it over there in South Africa right now? I have this world clock function on my cell phone but it doesn't mention South Africa... just curious.

In other news, I have “better than 20/20 vision” according to the eye doctor dude. And according to my psychologist today, I are “astute” and “obviously very intelligent”. Yay me?

Anduril - If I were to fly to S.A. to see it, which I fantasize about doing, where should I go - Cape Town? I've been looking at photographs on the internet, some beautiful stuff. I have a friend who goes there constantly, to paint and to buy tanzanite. Is it expensive - South Africa, I mean. What's Cape Town like?

Lotesse, I would like to talk about CT, but it would take a while, and I'm posting this from my phone. Will get to this tomorrow when I have a PC at my disposal.

In the interim, here are a few poor quality cell pics of yesterday's sunset.

Still lovely..

I thought seriously about teaching English in Japan if I liked it there- the main reason I probably wouldn't is because I don't want to teach period. I also thought about being a translator there. I have a friend who does that. Sounds like a lot of work though, if he can be used as an example.

By the way, another girl in my district and a good friend of mine is going to South Africa too. In Johannesburg.

my cousin taught english in japan for two years... she loved it... she went over knowing very little of the language, but picked it up pretty quick... she said her favorite thing about teaching in japan was that the students were much more respectful than in the states

beautiful pics Andúril... another place i'd like to visit

I think what initially drew me to the prospect of teaching in Japan were.......the sailor outfits. How predictable.

From what I recall, there wasn't much money to be made in the English-teaching-in-Japan profession. And I wanted to go overseas to earn money and save.

Born and raised. It's been tough though, what with lions roaming the streets, baboons jumping around on random rooftops.

I have a story about penguins, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.
