Exactly, not a vampire. I don't think she actually drank their blood, just took baths in it. She thought it would keep her skin healthy and young looking--in a world where the only power a woman has is in her looks, I can see why she'd want to do anything to stay looking young

And when she was caught, because she was a noble she could not be executed, so she was just locked up in a tower for the rest of her life, where she quickly grew "old and ugly."

Well, they seem to contradict themselves in many ways. For example, the design of the site is very "demon of starlight" like, all dark and swoopy and "oh look at us we're so cool," and then they go on and on about how being a vampire isn't really that great. From reading over some stuff first they said that being a vampire can be really cool but then they go to great lengths to explain how it's not...and besides, they say right out vampires are not the Un-dead, how that is silly and does not exist. Yet they cannot give a reasonable, logical scientific explanation of why their "vampires" need blood. They say why anemics DON'T need blood, but that is as far as they get. Anyway, that's just some of what was silly. But an interesting read, and thanks again for the link.

I noticed that, too. The closest I saw was where they said, if I remember, that they "lack something in their physical/spiritual makeup."

I also noticed that about the setup, how it didn't seem to be very compatible with "being a vampire isn't that great". I didn't see where they said that it was cool, then said that it wasn't, but by no means do I doubt it.
