Scream. Breathing. My heart stops beating. Arwen and Faramir. Yuck. That's the strangest combination I ever heard of. Now I have to recover.

She seemed to be under the impression that Arwen would come to Gondor to see Aragorn, but Faramir would fall in love with her.

Then she wasn't that wrong. I mean, Arwen is coming to Gondor.

Non-readers will NEVER understand Tolkiens world. We have to be kind. Not everybody discovers this great book. We're the blessed in this world, we have read it. (lol)

Yes, sometimes I would refer to my parents (poor folks never have/did read LOTR ) as "unenlightened" as a joke, when they asked what we were talking about, and the subject was LOTR, or something similar which they wouldn't know about.

Once my mom stops reading her weird "best seller" or "book club" books, I'm going to convince her to read LOTR. She still hasn't seen either movie, but she shall, yes, she shall (my mom's big on "bonding", and I'll make her watch FOTR with me). She's fond of big books, and LOTR is one big book.

My mom saw Bakshi and Rankin-Basses ROTK, so she knows what happens!

I've seen the Bakshi version too. No wonder she's a lost cause! I'm glad I saw Peter Jackson's version and read the books first.

Stoopid ninety second rule...

Personally, I think Bakshi captured the spirit of Tolkien better than Jackson. At least his dwarf wasn't an idiot.

Hoom...hum...ON-topic: Miranda Otto was a good Eowyn, though actually I liked RB's Eowyn a lot, too.

RB = Rankin Bass, right? Not Ralph Bakshi, since his Eowyn didn't even say anything. ::sigh:: I haven't seen Rankin Bass's ROTK, but I have seen stills, and Eowyn looks almost too small to be convincing. However, I'll have to get my hands on the movie first (the library people already think I'm a freak, checking out BBC LOTR twice, LOTR twice, requesting the get the Silmarillion, and checking out cartoon movies...LoL).

MO did a very good job with the material she was given. I can't wait to see her shine in ROTK.

O, yes, of course. Silly me, forgot his first name began with R. Could certainly cause confusion.

MR - Miranda Rotto? Did you not like her Eowyn?

What are you talking about, you half-witted apprentice loremaster? Sheesh, turning 18 sure goes to your head

Sorry, had Moulin Rouge on the brain, and I haven't slept well in a week.

My mum loves PJ's LotR, so maybe she will read the books some time.
I have only seen PJ's LotR and can't judge the others, but I love PJ's Eowyn (back to the topic).

Eowyn versus the Witch-king

Hey, I just read that Eowyn will slay the Witch-king in Rotk. I'm really sure that it will be in the movie, because they are currently re-shooting this part of the movie. Hurray.

If Éowyn is going to slay the Witch-King, there might be a chance that she gets wounded, just like she did in the book. And if she's wounded, there is a chance that she has to go to the Houses of Healing. If that happens, there is some hope that she will fall in love with Faramir. And that is something I'd really like to see.

PJ left out many things in his two films, like Tom Bombadil and Gimli falling in love with Galadriel (though I think you could see that in the extended version). It would be sad if he left out the Éowyn-Faramir affair in his third film.
