Pailan: No hard feelings whatsoever.

Noldo: I laughed really hard when I read your post. I've never been scolded for being a backwards and insensitive male before You must not have read the bottom of my post where I said that I live in a building with 300 other girls *LOL*! I'm trying to stop laughing even now, but this is such a novel experience! My roommate cracked up too

And so, despite the fact that most of your friends are girls, I hold to my earlier claim of having superior knowledge about the workings of the female mind on the grounds that I myself have a female mind. Having said that, I wish to make it known that I hold to everything I said about the shallowness of women.

I hope that this time I have been perfectly clear.

What DO men want?

How droll. Well, I can only speak for myself, and this thread seems to have gone a little off-topic. I mean, crickhollow used the word "novel". How weird is that?

Anyway, I want a private island adjacent to my very own isthmus (just because), a trampoline the size of Rhode Island, and a castle with minions (inspired by Wayfarer) and a "lazy river". That's what I want and I am... [flexes] a man. At least, I like to think so.

I knew precisely what it meant, crickhollow... if that's what you were implying.

I used the word "droll" previously. How weird is that?

Alright then. *sighs and lowers fists* I was getting ready for a good fight. I just learned how to do a blood choke in self-defense today, and was hoping to get a chance to practice it. *grins* another time, then.

I just didn't get it, because I talk like that all the time. I got laughed at a couple days ago for using the word, "albeit" in casual conversation.

Hmm... odd. I use that term as well, but no funny looks in return. I guess people are used to it from me.

Oh, I like large vocabularies and superfluous verbiage *wink*.

Actually, I'm not cognizant of what your dialague implies. Eruviel .

Oh, and why were you going to pull a "blood choke" on me, crickhollow? Not cool. Not nice. Not becoming.

My deepest apologies. It was merely an empty threat meant to show my defensiveness at being laughed at.

In reality, I hated to try the blood choke even in class, and my instructor had to do a lot of persuading to get me to try it.

For those who don't have any martial arts background whatsoever, a blood choke is a headlock where you cut off circulation of the main arteries to the brain. Your opponent will lose consciousness in under ten seconds. If not released, death will follow in well under a minute.
*DON'T TRY AT HOME!!!!*

What was implied by my prior statement is that I enjoy the employment of words that are not commonly known by certain others, because they give me wierd looks. That sentence did deteriorate a bit at the end, didn't it?

Alright, just let me know when to let go! I'll warn you, though, it's not the most comfortable feeling in the world, but quicker than the sleeper hold, which is just basically cutting off the breathing.
wow, these last couple of posts make me seem like an incredibly violent person. Oh well, I will have scared off any potential stalkers, right?

Wow, self-defense classes! I took Aikido once, but that was a long time ago. Maybe I'll get to take a self-defense class next year

Wanna hear the best part? I'm getting college credit for it. Since the school is forcing me to have a certain amount of Human Kinetics (ie PE) credits to graduate, I might as well get to spend that time punching, kicking, wrestling, and relieving stress. I mean, who wouldn't pick self-defense over, say, badminton?

Lucky, lucky you. Well, I'd pick fencing any time, if the school had it! But in lieu of that, I would go for self defense.

My, did we stray off topic again! Yay, more smilies! I'm in cheerful mood, can you tell?

Well, I'll leave it to the gentlemen of the forum to get us back on topic, because, as I have stressed twice now, I have not the workings of the male mind. I'll wait til they lead us back on topic.

Darth, why was Nibs's comment on me using the word, "novel" so amusing to you? Or maybe I don't want to know...*voice trails off; looks hesitant*

As a man, I find it very reassuring if my significant other can defend herself. But that's just me.

That's good I know of a few men who would not find that reassuring. But anyway. . .
