It's fufilling part of a graduation requirement... but I am lucky to be going to a school that encourages the freshmen not to fry their brains on academics.

Meh, lazy....Either way, I guess we balance eachother out. I fry my brains, nay sautee them, and you watch horror films of the 30s and 40s. Dern i, now I wanna go and rent some, blah!

Wow! If I was in a class like that, after a while, I wouldn't be able to distinguish one film from another. That happens to me when I watch TV show box sets, many episodes in a row. If each thing is too similar it just all gets blurred together. That's a full year course? My film analysis class is about to end.

We watched and discussed Dracula today, it's Frankie tomorrow. And that's really all I'm doing for school in the month of January. Fun, no?

He was doing a Renfield as in he was quoting the character Renfield from Dracula.

I love every one of those and have several on VHS. What a treat, to watch and study these and actually get credit for them. I guess the 21st century education isn't all bad.

I've seen most of them. Only a few that I havent, those being:

Frankenstein Meets the WolfMan
House of Dracula
Dracula's Daughter

Thats about all that I have missed in that list.

It's pretty interesting. Our Professor first saw Dracula in the theaters when he was nine and has been watching these horror films ever since. He knows just about all the behind the scenes stories and points out tons of tidbits that the rest of us miss.
He also happens to be my academic advisor and one of the oldest english professors, so it's fun getting to know his teaching style.

Yeah, he paused the movie in one spot and pointed out some really faint vertical lines in the backgound of the scene that I had taken to be nothing more than a side effect of the age of the film, turns out the lines were the creases in the sky backdrop which had been stored rolled up really tightly. Never would've guessed that. Movie making has change so much that something like that doesn't register.

Exactly. It sounds very cool, to see horror movies, like those classics. But I would have thought them similar after seen some. And some of them sounded not very good. Like The Daughter of Dracula. I've seen the original Dracula and Frankstein, and liked them alot. Cool movies.

the are all kinda corny by modern standards, but yeah, some of them do sound rather silly. Though back in the day I am sure they were the types to scare your pants off.

Eh? No, it's just for this month. My school has a strange schedule. They have January set apart as its own mini-semester to give students oppurtunities for internships, independent study, travel or in my case, a seminar class thing.

A full year would be a bit much, yes.

Hey, I like that idea actually. But in 16 weeks, I watched about half as many movies in my class. If you can finish them all, that's really cool.

I wish I had more time to watch movies. *pretends to scuffle away and write a college app. essay, trying to prove his point*
