Oh right, the English inability to pass the ball to the good player. England (in my limited lifetime as a football observor) have always been like that - like a bad school football team, where the object is just to get the ball to the one player that can do anything with it. Used to be Beckham. Now it's Rooney.

Anyway, it is a little worrying that Mr Maclaren will be taking over. I mean, won't he do exactly the same as the Sven-inator?

Good luck Elfhelm. I imagine it may not be a 2-0 to France on Saturday though...

The score is with the corporal she is tied against a tree...

Great game last night. Spain had loads of possession but got nothing out of the French back 4. Superb to see the old warhorse Zidane has still got it.

Clearly, Brazil won't be too worried but France have got the players to give them a bit of a headache. They will also be up against the best defence they've met so far.

Oh my. Brazil knocked out! Nooo. They're my favourite team, after the Socceroos. At least now I can wholeheartedly support Germany - I wondered who I'd go for if it was a Germany v Brazil final.

The French did deserve to win, however. They were the far better side during that game.

I'll cheer for the French if Germany (and maybe Portugal) lose. As long as someone beats the Azzurri, I'm fine - I, like most of Australia, am still bitter over that dodgy penalty.

ACH!!! Well, now I support whoever is playing Italy in the finals. As long as the Azzurri don't win...but seeing my luck, they'll end up up doing so. *Goes off cursing about stupid Azzurri*

(Glad I didn't wake up for this match - then I'd have been tired AND grumpy)

God, I wish that I watched this game - the BF said it was very exciting, and I'm soooo glad the germans didn't win - that would have been boring. :S

Jürgen, Jürgen, über alles... we still love you!
So what if Italy wiped the floor with the German team, and ultimately deserved to win? It's simply good manners to let the hosts win, as Germany themselves know, hence their 1966 performance. And German beat the Argentinians in a fist fight? Is that worth nothing? Nothiiiing?

(And poor Linny... that chap dived for that penalty! *humpf*)

Haha, I agree with all of the above! I cry with you!

Re Grosso's diving, you should read the flurry of furious articles/letters to the editor about it in Australian papers. Hilarious. People kept going on about how the Italians should be given Oscars or something for their diving performances.
Edit: just found this. It's funny that the signs were found on Lygon St because that's a very Italian part of the city. Haven't seen one of these signs yet but I'd love to! Haha. (I love that comment on the page by Tinto, btw)

And now, I say Viva Les Bleus. (The non-evil blue team, that is)
