I was not spamming Grey Wolf, though I think that's a hilarious quote!
I love your suggestions Eärniel! Maybe these laws are being slooowly adjusted as we speak! Messing with our minds is the Creator's next project, just for fun, because She's disappointed in us. I have proof that the Creator is actually changing the physical laws to mess with our heads. When I was in high school, only six years ago, the Bohr model of the atom was regarded as correct, and it had no flaws. Then, in first year university chemistry, 2 years ago, the latest developments in science showed that it did have flaws. Since they would never teach us wrong or incomplete science in high school (which our teachers asserted themselves), it follows that the laws of physics and chemistry (which are both at work in the Bohr model of the atom) changed between 6 years ago and 2 years ago! Think of examples that haven't even been noticed which could have profound impacts on our lives!

And you're quite right. Things that were thought to be correct once could "suddenly" be found to be incorrect because of new research. |

There are definitely some Brits (besides you I mean) who would like to see the monarchy abolished. They probably aren't as numerous as people who want to keep it, or those who don't care, but...
Without the Monarchy, what/who do you propose as the head of state? Will you re-write necessary laws? Have a president instead of a Prime Minister? Will the head of state be elected? Your ideas are very interesting Chrys... What party would you run for? Or will you run as an Independent? So Imagine... a new Britain under Prime Minister Chrys!

Recent changes to doctors' contracts mean that for the first time the NHS can tell them how much private practice they're allowed to do. Allied to this, the NHS has recently begun to introduce tariffs for medical procedures. What this means is that they set a standard price for the intervention. As it happens, this is based on NHS costs, which are far lower than private costs (because the NHS is much more efficient). The result seriously threatens the revenues of private health care companies such as BUPA. These changes won't end up in eliminating private medicine, but they may seriously erode it. |

LCoU, do you really mean to reduce every human being to cipher status. Tho' a criminal may deserve forfeiture of life for his or her crimes, to make them guineau pigs against their will is make them subhuman. Better to terminate their existence that reduce them to that. Your government sounds very much like the N.I.C.E in THAT HIDEOUS STRENGTH by CS Lewis.
You'd not want to be a patient there. Your type of government only works if your are the Big Cheese. or head spider! When the proletariat or the bourgese get tired of you, you get to swing like Mussolini! Don't you wish for more out of life? Bear in mind, O voters of the Great Continent of Entmoot, that LCoU really means to be his name! Be afraid! ************* I suppose the US must get ready for another influx of British doctors! The government is legislating them out of business if I read your statements correctly. One can only hope that they do that next to LCoU and the Gaffer whatever employment their mean, drab little lives offer ! Let them eat cake!!!

If the people that test the cosmetics etc on animals on themselves then they should test them on anyone or anything.

Cosmetics and such don't really need to be tested on animals. I'm sure you could pay someone to squirt shampoo in his eye. (Enough to make it worthwhile for the person.) I think it's possible to eliminate animal testing in most areas without having compulsory human testing.
There are scientific experiments that probably couldn't be done if they weren't at least first tested on animals. Of course, being forced to grow an ear on your back would be a deterrent to violent crimes, but I don't believe the prison system works like that. There are three main functions of the prison system: punish people for commiting crimes, keep law-abiding people safe from criminals, and help criminals reform (this is not very evident in a lot of systems, but IIRC some have counsellors). For someone to commit a horrible crime like rape, they are not just violent, but they really have something mentally wrong. In Britain under Chrys, a rapist (or similarly horrible criminal) would forgeit nearly all his human rights if I understand you correctly. This is an interesting concept to think about. Do you think people would go for it? Personally, I hesitate to strip human rights from even the lowest of scum bags.
