Pretty catpics and a simply amazing sunset, and nice pics over all, as usual, my friend.

I might bomb this thread with some colourful photos tonight and tomorrow. You've been warned.
The Chinese New Year was celebrated in Helsinki, and I was fortunately there with my camera. It was a great celebration, far too few people had heard about it.. The performers brought much-needed colour and energy to gray Helsinki. It was beautiful. As you might notice, the performers were great subjects too, but so were their shadows. I had so much fun developing these. 8)

Beware of your shadow..

More shadows..

There were also some puppeteers..

.. and some martial arts performers.

Oh! Nice!
Fascinating, isn't it? All the different arts and clothes? At my university in Japan, we had cultural weeks organized by the people of a particular country. I think China has about 27 different traditional clothes, for all different tribes and areas!
Thanks for sharing, Nerdy!

Looked like quite a show! The ones with the adapted shadows are really special. Nicely done, Nerdy.

I'm also fascinated by the fantastic quality and artistry of the photos (as I always am when it comes to your pics ). Look at the whip guy for instance. You really caught him in the moment, with whining whip and flapping clothes - and no motion blur whatsoever.

Do you have a pic of the marrying couple that you are willing or able to share as well? I'm curious as to how they will be dressed.
Those dolls look erm... very Western. It somehow doesn't fit the background. It's like Japanese people getting married in Western get-up in a shrine... >_<

hehe, yeah.. it's a bit cheesy. i have quite a few photos from the wedding, i'll post a couple more. the bride is american, though, so her wedding dress was quite traditionally western.. although for the more moroccan traditions that followed the wedding ceremony itself she wore something else. i'll see what i can find.

this is my current background.. just to show how egocentric i am.. the photo is from the trip to morocco, the text is the beginning of one of my poems (http://www.entmoot.com/showpost.php?...&postcount=395)..

the puffadder, one of the most dangerous snakes in the world.. they do look quite scary.
