No they are not IMO. to me, supernatural suggests a force greater than nature. But magic IMO had it's basis in all living things. AKA nature! They are not the same! Each powerful in their own ways.

You are wrong, or rather, you are using a very limited definition of magic. Magic (in fiction) can come from yourself, nature, a god, etc. But magic is the same as supernatural power in the case of gandalf versus harry.

okay fine... but I still think that the only way to tell who is stronger/will win is to have Harry battle Saruman and Gandalf battle Voldemort, with his newly auired powers.

i agree with carrie,
the only way to tell is to bring them both here and set up a whole battle arena. that would be awesome I would like bring all these harry potter rules posters and like paint my face with harry potter colors!! any ways the real reason i replied was to let carrie know i got a computer so i can go on entmoot now!!! didnt u guys notice i was gone??? bet u missed me!!! anyways i have to catch up to eowyns 600 and somethin posts so heres one. Did everyone hear that my school went to see LOTR 2 for a field trip, it was awesome!!! then i got to write a paper on it. we had to choose a charector with a choice and inner conflict throughout the film!!!! i chose Arwen!!! it was soooo much fun!!!!!!

omg! I missed you sooooo much! (you'll never catch up to my nearing 700 post count!) If you go to the venting thread I complained about you moving for about a week! I think people started getting bored about hearing 'my life sucks' over and over again!

I still say Arwen sucks! Eowyn is better!

This is like asking who would win between Mike Tyson and Michael Jackson. There is no contest. Gandalf is from beyond the world, he was there at it's creation when Iluvatar spoke the word Ea.

How can you compare a kid learning to become a wizard against a being who is other then the world he is in? Sent by the Powers of the World, and then sent back after death by the One, to become the second strongest force in ME (not Arda) unless you were to come before the Dark Lord himself.

Gandalf and Harry Potter, ummm... well. Like ^ said. I don't think there's even a chance of Harry winning.

What about Harry Vs. Sauron.

That would be funny.

I think Gandalf could beat any of the HP characters even Voldemort(sp?)

Yeah but I think Dumbledore could take Gandalf any day... And when Harry grows up and is a proper wizard with all his OWLs then Gandalf will have to step aside. Because Harry is human and therefore understands us better, and has a heart and a personality.
