One could argue that if you alter material too far from its original state, it becomes unnatural. But that would be a smidge off topic.
WRT gender issues, there isn't anything human that isn't natural.

Really? I dunno.... earth's a pretty closed system. Don't see that altering to any degree could be considered 'unnatural'.

Hey, guys and gals, here's a new definition that you might want to consider:
http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/o...nless_the.html Harridan? Harpy? You decide. Since I'm a gynecologist, I have a definition of feminism that is different...but what would you expect from a patriarchal old fool? There's worse, if you have the stomach for it, but I haven't seen this sort of raving in quite some time and never in this serious sort of vein: http://jammiewearingfool.blogspot.co...d-wife-in.html And you thought the Euros had the politically correct thingy all to themselves!

Well, since you're a gynecologist, wouldn't it be fair to say you're more interested in people's secondary sexual characteristics than in their gender? I mean, what does their gender have to do with their reproductive health?
Anyway, about the Newsweek article you linked: I wouldn't use slightly sexist terms such as harpy or harridan (sexist in the sense that they're negative and only directed at women) to describe this person's fairly extreme views. I had to laugh at this part though (bolding mine): Quote:
Palin describes herself as a woman. It seems to me that the gender she identifies best with is being a woman. Therefore, she's a woman. The only person who has any right to say anything about this is Palin herself. I agree that Palin doesn't speak for every American woman, but that doesn't mean Palin is actually not a woman. I wonder if that was a typo or something. As for the totally frothing other article... my brain cannot un-read these things you know. *sigh*
