How are you gonna fit fruit salad into your stomach after all that?! But, if that's what floats your boat... Did you bring the fruit salad? Do you have any mangoes? I'd like a mango for later; I plan on making mango martinis later on tonight.

It's good to be back!
I have been gone for a week, and I'll explain why. This is very vague, because the circumstances changed nearly twice per day. LAst week, I mentioned my mom's arm was extremely painful. She went into the hospital four times in three days. During the first night of the final visit they diagnosed her with tendonitis through many tests and MRIs throughout the first night, and admitted her into the hospital. Once the tests were examined, the doctors added hepatitis and an unkown blood infection to her list of problems. The next day (Tuesday?), her arm no longer tendonitis, and in fact no one knew what was wrong. The unkown blood infection turned into a STAPH infection, and the Hepatitis turned into bacterial pneumonia. These last diagnoses, the STAPH infection adn the bacterial pneumonia, have remained the same. Her arm, throughout the week, has taken nearly every form of muscle tear, tendon infection, etc. However, they have arrived on the possibility that the reason the arm hurts is because that is where the STAPH infection localized itself. My stepdad, Ed, requested that he be called about any updates on her condition regardless of the time. This is where it turns into a nightmare. Saturday night, around 9:30 (give or take an hour), my mom suddenly stopped breathing. They rushed her to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), and pumped oxygen into her via an oxygen tube down her throat. Later that night or early the next morning, she was once again moved, this time to the CCU (Critical Care Unit?). Neither Ed nor I knew about this until 12 hours later. They didn't start calling until eight, and it turned out that they were calling our fax machine for the rest of the hour: I never pick up the fax machine, and Ed was busy playing a cop on set. Yesterday, from 10:00 am till 3:30 (without even getting to eat), I was sitting in the waiting room of the hostpital (which is so small, there is only one real waiting room). All members of the immediate family and a few friends came to see her. I personally didn't go to see her because I don't want to see her like that (I never have before, and I'm waiting to see what happens). Anyway, the doctors reported that she is at a critical point, and from here, she can only get better or worse, worse being death and better being life. All we can do is wait, hope and pray, but I'm quite confident she'll survive, considering the the strong desire to move to Arizona.

Thank you, flupke. (Have we met?) I don't care about the stupid having to be 21 to drink. I can have as many virtually strong drinks on a virtual place as I want!
It is really a headache. I not only have to stand by Ed and visit the hospital twice a day, I also have to do the job of two people. Luckily, I'm not in school, becaust the guinea pigs would have died and the crabs would have rotted away.

My god, trolls' bane that's awful!! *big moot-hug* Here, you need a mango martini and what would you like to nibble on? Whatever you want, we'll get it. The Teacup Cafe is huge, and always stocked with every known (and some yet unknown) yummy thing to eat. If the replicator's not working, we'll find what you want around here anyway, it just takes a few minutes to locate stuff 'cause this place is HUGE.
I'd go see your mom if I were you, trolls' bane. Don't be afraid of seeing your loved ones hurt, she would love to see your face right now I bet. It'll be O.K.*'nother big moot-hug*

I would love to see her, but she wouldn't see me. Not only is she legally blind (therefore, she would sort of see me), but she is under heavy sedation. That I understand perfectly (w/o the help of my aunt and uncle whom I love but who talk to me like I have the intelligence of a three year old.), because if I had a tube down my throat, I would instinctively tear it out. My visit, therefore, is pretty much useless until she is off the tube.

My heart goes out to you, trolls' bane. That's a lot of serious stress you've got right now. She'll get better soon, stay strong O.K.?

Thank you all!
Well, I do have good news. My stepdad got back, and gave me the latest. Her O^2 levels are normal again, she is no longer under sedation, and she can recognize people's voices. She still has a tube down her throat, but other than that, she's doing better . We no longer have to worry as much. In this case, I'll go see her for a while.

Here, trolls' bane, have a shot of Silver Patron before you go, and take some of this chocolate cream pie with you. There's no age restrictions in The Teacup Cafe; the older mooters are always around to make sure the younger guys don't get too carried away or too drunk for their own good. That Patron goes down real smooth, too. Or, I could make you a frapucchino with Ben & Jerry's ice cream if you prefer, whatever flavor's your favourite!

None of us escapes dealing with the fight & struggle of "living", TB, but know the Moot is your cyber-comfort when you need a shot of 100% pure care and concern.

Thanks you guys!
I forgot to mention that she also has gall stones . However, I went to see her yesterday, and she is somewhat responsive. She obviously can't talk with the tube down her throat and up her nose, but she movesm even though she has no clue what you're saying, she knows who you are adn that you are there. She moved her leg for me and turned her head, and she even reached for Vic (the hyperactive architect/computer program buyer/downloader who also happens to be a friend since kidnergarten).

I am just now reading about what is going on with your mother, Troll's Bane.
I want you to know that I will be praying for her and if you'd like I can put her on our prayer list at church.

Please do! The more people praying and rooting for her, the better. Just as long as I don't have hundreds of people calling my house and taking away my mooting time, that's a great idea. The pastor from our church went in to her and prayed over her. Thank you all for your support. If no one minds, I'm going to print out some of your posts to show Ed and eventually mom.
