What did Bilbo say he would give a good many of....."for a drink of something cheering out of one of Beorn's wooden bowls!"?

Hmmm, well I'll try. The dwarves wouldn't have given a good many of them, for a drink!

Very good! Precious goblets had little value to our "down to earth" halfling.

i haven't read the entire thread... but in order not to hold things up for weeks i'll pose a question that hopefully hasn't been asked before:

where did Bilbo keep Sting after he returned home?

Well, I haven't heard this question, but Lizra could probably tell you if it has been asked.

Anywho, the answer is Bilbo hung it above his mantle.

I don't remember that one. Just don't ask "who lent Bilbo a silk handkerchief?"

That was fast and here I thought it would be a more difficult question. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at a fellow Mooter's knowledge.

Go ahead Valandil.

OK!

Who (on presumably good authority) had, "et a village and a half between (them), since (they) came down from the mountains"?

Yes, jsandecker, you're correct! Ask away...

Sorry to throw you off Radagast the Brown. Accents must be tough. Is your version of "The Hobbit" in English? If so, it's probably written that way, but even then, I could see you not really "getting" it!

lol I was just thinking of that question.

I believe it was the first day, but it was raining and everything was wet and miserable. He wished he was home by the fire, and with the kettle on.
