I'll post a question later as I haven't got the books with me at the moment.

According to Gandalf, what might there not have been had he not met Thorin Oakenshield?

Um... Lothlorien, maybe? (Because if the Dwarves hadn't retaken the Lonely Mountain there would have been nothing between Mordor and the Misty Mountains but Mirkwood... I think)

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

Just give me One Good Year To get my feet back on the ground.
I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

None, although it is more thing than an of the others.

That may have happened but it is not what Gandalf said.

Aha!!! No Queen, it was, precious, yess, no Queen of Gondor. Gandalf said, he did, he said there would have been no Queen of Gondor, precious- he said it, he did.

Are we right, my precious, my love?

I disagree - "We might now hope to return from the victory here onlny to ruin and ash." - that's what Gandalf says, in Appendix A.

Close, Valandil.

Val, kind sir, you need to check your pm box. But I'm off for now. I'll not be back until next week- so if someone gets the correct answer for sure *off they go to the book*, they can have it. Otherwise honorary turnship goes to Val.

Ah. Well, that's just being... that word I forgot. It's not really important... as I say my answer is 'Eriador as lively and beautiful as it was' or something like that... I don't think the Queen of Gondor has any importance, really. Just my opinion... oyu may continue now..
