I can imagine. It's a detached house then? We live in a terrace, but our neighbours are quite nice.

Yes, it's a detached house. Most of the homes in my area are. Anything with a shared wall are rental places. We've been married for almost 9 years, so it was time to buy a house instead of rent.
Also we wanted out after the adventure of the neighbor flooding my bathroom because he let his washer overflow.

Hmm, that was a not so nice present. However, isn't clearing that up the responsibility of your landlord? That's the upside of renting.
Owning your own home is a lot better economically though. How is the garden?

Yeah, the landlord took care of that. Luckily it was just the bathroom and didn't damage the carpet in the bedroom.
It's a pretty good sized. Both front and back. (I'm assuming garden in your neck of the woods is the same as yard here in the States) Once we get in, I'll be sharing pics on Facebook. The loan company has had a delay in the paperwork so now it might be Wednesday before we sign,

Bigsis is also moving into a new home so I have been fullfilling my auntie-duties and have done some serious babysitting since I returned from my holiday trip.
It's a bit tough to move everything in one go as they're still working in the new house and it doesn't have a bathroom yet. With three little kids that's kinda a must. I will be helping this weekend to move a little more furniture in between the babysitting. Still, moving house is a great moment to declutter. So many things show up you've almost forgotten you had in the first place. |

My oldest son is driving home from college today. It's around 1100 miles, so it's normally a two-day trip. But he got a very early start (4 am Illinois time) and it looks like he's trying to make it today. He's about 3-1/2 hours away now.
Haven't seen him since August, so we're really looking forward to it.
