Oder, wenn jemand tun etwas du nicht magst, sagst: 'Faen!'. (Pronounced 'Fa-an')

Du kannst auch Lin fragen. Ich hab' ihr einige gute Sätze gelernt.

Here's a bit of Cantonese: "Da ni say ah"- that's only the rough pronunciation of course, there's no why I could write that. (Even if I knew Canto). It means, 'I'll beat you to death". I asked my dad that 'cause my friend tried to tell that to me to see my reaction, but not knowing Canto, I had no idea what she was on about. I could tell you the same thing in other Chinese dialects. "Pa du ah" (Hainanese) or "Pa ler see ah" (Some other dialect similar to Hainanese). The "ah" is one of those words Chinese people love to add to the ends of everything.

Somewhat along the same vein, "saya" (meaning "I", "me" in Indo) sounds the same as "Sai ah"- meaning ..."faeces ah" in one dialect. Didn't realise it at all until dad laughed at that. (But hey, we poke fun at his English. When he says "lunchbox" it sounds uncannily similar to "car crash" in Cambodian

)
