You mean you saw me? Damn I thought i was doing a pretty good job in those hedges..........

Hope you find the idiot who is sending you the stalker mail - send him / her a virus that will wipe out their online existence

oh, I'm glad I wasn't the only one! The first time I saw it, it was in a group of about 40 of my friends. Legolas said his line (*gasp!* It's the horn of Gondor! *rushes off to the rescue*) and I snorted (something that I don't ever do), and said (out loud, in the theatre, something I also never do), "That's the horn of Gondor?!!" the people on either side of me, and the person behind me all shushed or smacked me at the same time...yeah. So anyway, I snickered, too.

1. If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it will always
be yours. If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with. But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free....... You either married it or gave birth to it.

2. Reason to smile: Every 7 minutes of every day, someone in an aerobics class pulls a hamstring.

3. They keep telling us to get in touch with our bodies. Mine isn't all that communicative but I heard from it the other day after I said, "Body, how'd you like to go to the six o'clock class in vigorous toning?" Clear as a bell my body said, "Listen fatty....do it and die."

4. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

5. The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

6. The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does.

7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

8. Amazing! ! You hang something in your closet for a while and it
shrinks two sizes!

9. Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain
consciousness.

10. I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are
eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day.

Yes, you're welcome to join us It'll be like Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express"! (decides against elaborating the plot, in case some one hasn't read it yet).

Actually, TC, I'm not so much afraid he'll keep that scene OUT; I'm more afraid he'll keep it IN but change the dialogue!! (Eowyn - "Oh Aragorn, if only you loved me! I can't stand that she-elf!" *thwack!* "who's that old geezer on the ground, anyway?") (better not say too much more for those that don't know the story )

crick - you know what the horn reminded me of? You probably haven't seen it for a LOOONNG time (if at all), but it reminds me of the sound the littlest elephant makes on "The Jungle Book" Disney movie (the original one, not the new one in theaters) - kind of a cross between a kazoo and blowing your nose...

Of course, I'll have to join you too. And if he has Arwen do it, we can even get Black Breathelizer in!

I don't need an excuse in RotK to the join the lynch mob - I have enough reasons just from what he butchered in FotR.

I loved that movie when I was a kid. We had an old vinyl record of "Bear Necessities".

This is probably my most favorite quote, it also has special meaning to me as well, as a group of friends gave me something with this inscribed on it a few days before I graduated from College:

"The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore... Unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible... It is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors... to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown."
--Ferdinand Magellan, Explorer (c. 1520)

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.'

'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin

Thanks so much. I'm in the process of telling my American cousin that i wish he was here so i could tell him that line.

Any more mean quotes? I love them.

I don't know if anyone put this up, sorry if they did:

What other Smeagol quotes? Oh dear. I feel sorry for anyone around me- they'll be tormented with soon-to-be incessant Gollum insults....

Surely the Grateful Dead of literature—goes on for far too long and only sounds good when you’re stoned.

Saw this just a few minutes ago, in the books we hate thread. Cracked me up.

Also--One I'm fond

Save a seal; kill a whale.

Or.

Hail Mary full of grace, save me from this hot-hot place.

Or even.

To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there's no music, no choreography and the dancers hit each other.

the last three aren't mooter quotes. I tend to lean towards humor than wisdom.

I remember one:

Heil Hitler, full of grace...

NOTE: This was NOT Intended to reflect on Catholics, but rather the religious fanaticism of the Nazis.
