With BoP around? Never. Any way, we're not talking religion. We're just talking the relevance of Satan being a mythological beast.

And, BoP, he technically isn't much of a humaniod beast. And since he's a personality and not a race such as gryphons, vampires, and pegasuses, etc. I think that cuts him off the list.

Now, if we can pick certain personalities, I'd pick Amadeus the vampire 'cause I don't know any gryphons personally.

Oh, so we can include fanged blood drinkers, but not winged entities? (He was a fallen angel after all - don't they count as a race?) I demand that we include angels and Satan!

Well, the thing is BoP, some people believe in Satan and angels, thus cutting them out of the mythological category.

My personal favourite mythological beasts are Entmooters
. This happy creatures vary from pants with beards to rivers to strange names I can't quite place at the moment to mathematical concepts.

People used to believe in dragons. Some (myself included ) still do. So I guess they can't be mythological beasts then? Same goes for lots of other 'mythological beasts.' So then Satan counts.

Everything can be called a myth. After I wake up, you will all be gone. I'll see you again later in my dreams and nightmares after some spice beer...

Now where is that Murbella?

Beasts (definition: an animal other than a human, especially a large four-footed mammal) is what we're talking about. Angels are spirits, not animals, so they don't count. Demons don't count either, I suppose, if they were spirits as well. I know they could take physical form, but they weren't living animals - they were still entities and nothing more.

And like I said earlier, Satan is a personality - not a race. Of course, he's OF a race, but he's not A race. See what I'm saying?

Each one of the mythological beasts listed here has someone in the world that believes they actually exist. So does that makes everything here imadmissable?

Clear as mud. So, we can count the undead, but not the angels, is that it?

Revelations 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Dragon. Beast. Mythological beast.

Selkie are cool. . .even if every story ever written about them involves them falling for the same trick (okay, so they're all based on one story. Whatever.).

I say that if vampires count, angels...fallen or not...should count as well.

Good point, if he can manifest as a snake, that makes him of the beast genera, if only because he shape changed.

And what EG said.

Here are some mythological beasts from my country:

1. The Manananggal or Aswang - A beautiful woman who lives alone in a house isolated in a forest. At dusk, she turns into a sort of vampire who craves, not blood, but human flesh (usually hearts or unborn children). She sprouts bat wings, her torso separates from her hips, and she flies off hunting the thatch-roofed houses in the countrysides for pregnant people or children staying out late at night.

2. The Kapre (pronounced kap-re) - A giant about 8 ft tall who likes smoking tobacco while sitting in a large root-draped tree.

My Fave

My favorite is sort of a combination of two. The unicorn, and the pegasus. I heard that they're called Unisus's but I'm not sure. I also like Rocs, Tree Squeaks, and Splinterscats. (Author and creator of these last three creatures is Terry Brooks)

Rocs aren't Terry Brooks...they're an ancient mythological bird that I can't remember anything about at the moment. . .
