Aw come on. Gundam isn't better than Bebop! I guess it is pretty cool though, except for that stupid SD Gundam. Anyway, Cowboy Bebop is definately set in the future, but I can't remember how far exactly. I think no more than 100 years. Anyway, this is my 499th post! almost to 500!

I saw the Beebop movie a while back and really enjoyed it, so I got hold of a few of the series DVDs and I have to say that Cowboy Beebop ROCKS! Anyone who says that they don't like it must just like stuff that's easy on the brain or something, cos it's certainly not light 'n fluffy. Anyway, my question is this: What would you guys recommend that I watch next? Big O? Gundam? Yu-gi-o?

Yeah... my 16 year old daughter calls herself Ed. I'll probably be sending her the Cowboy Bebop movie via Amazon maildrop next paycheck. She likes Fushigi Yugi. And of course we have as much Miyazaki as we can find.

I just ordered a soundtrack from Cowboy Bebop! I'm so excited!! Kenshin was on tonight...but I have to wait to see Yu Yu Hakusho. And here I was all excited about the Suzaku episodes... man, relying on Cartoon Network is horrible.

In no way was I suggesting that Gundam was better than Bebop. Although I wish they didn't smoke that much. No wonder everybody wanted to go to space!

Ok, I can across this picture, and decided to share it. It's from Rurouni Kenshin, and I'm not positive who it is. Two questions:
1. Who is it?
2. Doesn't he look like an angry hobbit?

Has anyone seen the movie Spirited Away? That was very beautiful anime, and the story line was creative and interesting.

I saw Vampire Princess Miu a long time ago, and I don't remember what it was about, though I did enjoy it.

I used to watch Sailor Moon, but I'm not into it any more. I still think it's a good show, but the anime is too 2 dimensional. I have the same issue with Disney movies (in their style of classical animation).

Ok...it's that punk Yutaro. I though so.

OMG I just saw Excel Saga for the first time. They were right- it is even crazier than FLCL!

Has anyone seen Saiyuuki? It's my new favourite! Even if Sanzo does look liek a weirdo...(those eyes...) particularly in the anime.

Sure there is! A lot of stuff is short, particularly OVAs or whatever. Is all you've seen Miyazaki films? I actually went a long time without seeing any. I just saw Spirited Away last week. It was cute, but it's not going on my top "5" list.

Yeah, I believe so. I have a fiercely patrioticc Japanese friend, but I think she only likes Miyazaka films. Which would you recomend then?

Hmm, well, it's hard to say, since I don't know your tastes, Janny. However, as they say at ADV (I think...) "Anime is a medium, not a genre", and I'm sure there's something out there for just about everyone. You've got everything from Pokemon to hard core porn, and the deadly serious and philosophical, to total goofyness. So, give me some ideas and maybe I'll think of a good suggestion. Or, look at the other films mentioned in the thread, as most of them are pretty good.

I have the Collector Edition of Record of Lodoss War DVD. That is indeed amazing.

“What does the term american refers to” asked the boy, and the wise man answered: “Lets look at the dictionary then.”
As an adjective American is:
1. Of or relating to the United States of America or its people, language, or culture.
2. Of or relating to North or South America, the West Indies, or the Western Hemisphere.
As a noun American is:
A native or inhabitant of America.
A citizen of the United States.

Then the boy asked, “What is America then?”, and the wise man looked at the dictionary again:
1. The United States.
2. also the A·mer·i·cas. The landmasses and islands of North America, Central America, and South America.

Confused, the boy asked, “Does the term american refers solely to a us citizen or to any person in North, Central or South America?”
The wise man replied: “What do you think?”, and the boy answered: “It is clear to me that while the term american is used to refers to us citizens, one can also use it to refer to any person who is from that continent too,” the boy thought for a while and asked the wise man, “Am I right?”, and he replied: “But of course.”
The boy wondered, why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the term american refers not only to US citizens but to anyone of the American continent?, but then sadly, the boy understood, that it is the calamity of ignorance.

Lodoss War is my favourite. That stuff is great... I wish I could find more of it (I refuse to buy dubbed anymore, and I'm on the east coast. )

Watase Yu (Fushigi Yuugi) is an incredible artist. Takahashi Rumiko is pretty good too (I like Inuyasha). I don't watch or read that much else, though...
