It makes me soooooo mad to read about all these people who have weapons and some one's in tears because they can't get the red one, and I'm so sad cuz I can't get any!!!!!!!

Poor Laura. I'd try and make you a bow, but they never work when I make 'em . . . maybe if I do come up w/ an effective way to make swords, knives, etc. I'll give you one. How's that sound? You can help me hammer it . . . it's only a little harder than a penny.

Heh, i'm a right handed archer, but at our club they let you shoot with whichever hand, and encourage you to try both so you can see which is your better.

HEY! THE RED ONE IS PRETTY!!!

And i wasn't really in tears you know. Just annoyed that the stupid shop said they could get it then couldn't. Anyhow, why can''t you get any? Are you not allowed? Or just can't afford it. I have to save up the small wage from my stupid job to pay for my archery class, otherwise i can't go. No one pays for it for me if you were thinking i was some spoilt person who has a family to buy lots of things for her...oops, sorry, turned into a rant. *Breathes deeply* I'll find a link for you.

I have no weapons, unless you take my letter opener, it's a little sword. Or perhaps my elbow, pretty hard and bony. (I gave my sister a concussion with it)

*mutters to one self* Why, why did I give that sword to my dad? Not like I'm bloody well ever going to get in Toledo again...

All right, that's IT! I'm off to find myself an archery!

Thanx for the luck . . . but band-aids would be much more useful, considering how beat-up my hands are from that darned thing.

Well my mom said that I can get a dagger now if I want!!!

Now all I have to do is con my parents in to taking us to the Ren fest this year! *plots deveously*.

Gah I HOPE we get to go. Great fun it is. But I'm going to be in a play that runs through all of september and the shows are on wen,thur,sat so the weekend idea would be out.

There's a person I act with who told me that she got a really nice dagger at a Renaissance fair for $12. It was orginally $25, but the 80 year old vendor told her she could have it for $12 if she gave him a kiss. Shows you what extents people will go to for cool weapons.

People who don't know me often think I'm 19-21. A few days ago I got on the bus, paid the 50 cents 'Youth' fare, and then the driver turned to me and said, "You know it's $1.50, don't you?" I responded, "But 50 cents is the 'Youth' fare." He then looked at me suspiciously and asked, "How old are you?" I proceeded to tell him the truth despite the fact that I could've said I was a year older than I am. "I'm 16," I said. He continued to glare at me with that suspecting gaze and said, "You don't look 16 to me. More like 19 or 20." Astounded by his wrongful account of my age I simply said, "Thank you."
Now to get to my point (sorry about the side trip), you take me along on that fair and I'll see what I can do for you. (A kiss wouldn't hinder my efforts either

Maybe I'll fake an ID...or maybe I'll just bring my parents along, make them buy me a knife, and ditch them. I like that idea. You can have a kiss anyhow, though.

Getting sort of back on topic...what are people's preferred weapons? For those who don't fight, pretend you do.

I like longswords (they're not actually that long), and daggers are nice...I would love to be outfitted with a stealth knife set, those that go in the boots, and the wrist sheaths, and those bodice knives just look wicked. Yum.

I prefer longswords as well, though I would much rather have several hidden daggers. Stealth can often compensate for brute force...and it's more fun too

. And I don't know if it counts as a sword, but one or two katars would be nice to have as well.
And you actually don't need ID at the fair my friend went to. She went with several other kids who were all under 18, and each got a dagger. So there.

Yeah, the age thing all depends on where you go to get it. They were awful snarky to younger people where I bought my knife, but the guy I bought my sword from I don't think he cared.

My preferred weapons would be sword and bow. More specifically, I like bastard swords, rapiers, longswords, and really light broadsword-length...er, that's a foam sword, nevermind

As for bows, I don't really know much about the different sorts, but I love my recurve...
I also like flails and morning stars, but I've never used one. Looks fun, though! And halbards are just scary. I want to learn how to use one.

I really like the Medieval era swords.. longswords, etc. Also kind of partials towards the Scottish Baskethilted Broadsword. Leaf-blades also take my fancy.

I was at the mall with my friend today (me, at the mall? someone help me! *screams in horror*

) and we went into the store where I got my first sword, and they have the LotR movie replica swords, and they look kinda nice. They had a lovely Sting, which I want...but I want their katanas more!

And the knives they had...*drool*

I assume they were decorative swords? Or were some of them functional? Personally, I'd rather have a katana than a Sting replica, also, if both were fully functional weapons. Well made katana equals one dead (or severely wounded) Frodo

Eh, the LotR ones were decorational. I think the katanas were functional. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they were...I want one! They're so pretty...in a very deadly way

Hey, that's why I like rapiers. The ones with the really fancy hilts with the hand guard and stuff because it looks so pretty but the point is to protect your hand and it's great for punching people and hooking your opponents sword to disarm them
