turin had two sisters..i am sure there is two versions to this story..one is turn had a sister Laleth (spelling?) which meant laughter..she died by a disease spred by morgoth..turin lay in fever when she perished.

Just a lucky guess, or I may have read the same thing as you have. I scratched my head for some time with that one. The adjective "popular" was a clue.

Anyway, for a bit of Hobbit lore.

Lalia the Great, matriarch of the Tooks at the time of Bilbo's birthday party, was known by another, less courteous title.

What was it? (Hint- it prevented her from attending the party).

Actually, what I was looking for was the lable from the maps. Which was, appropriately enough, 'New Lands'. ]: )

Was it 'the fat'?

"Lalia the Fat" is correct! Your turn, oh insufferable one.

I couldn't think of a suitably difficult question. Sorry.

Where's the fun in that Ringbearer?

StrawberryIcecream, I guess it's your turn. In the mean time, I'll come up with one

Let's see, something difficult. ...

What did the Green-elves of Ossiriand call themselves?

Strawberry told me to do a question so here it goes (she said she is busy):

How many parts from Elros/Elrond are elf, maia and human? (if you didn't understand the question say so)
