um i think was the point of a friendship with no sexual feelings, and i do agree that sex befoe marrage isnt that good especially considering child support, and haveing to raise a kid by your self, and i will open my self up on this one and say abortion is a cowardly way out that only causes greater harm

Sex before marriage: I think having sex before marriage is fine; what's not-so-fine is having sex before you're old enough. I mean, if a person gets married when they're 45, I wouldn't expect them to remain a virgin that long. So I would say premarital sex is okay in that case. But if you start sleeping around when you're 14 or something, that just makes for a whole lot of personal and social problems.

As far as premarital sex goes, humans should prolly not be engaging in sex outside of a lifetime commitment. Think of all the people who get hurt by superficial relationships and breakups.n Now compound that by including a sexual component.

Furthermore, the sort of flip attitude towards sex that promiscuity implies tries to justify itself by claiming that sex is something that can be taken outside of a relationship. They equate sexual intamacy with self pleasure. They reduce love to a form of high-maintanance masturbation.

Veering sharply away from that line of thought. Sexual activity should not be entered into unless you're willing to commit (for life) to another person. Legal marriage is just a way to solidify and reinforce that commitment which should already be there.

Finally, sex should be merely the culmination of a deeper relationship. The romantic shcool of thought expects fireworks and passion, and believes that the emotional state of being 'in love' somehow is a base for everything else. It is not. In fact, the most fulfilling relationships start out with a sincere commitment, and grow deeper as time progresses. Instead of a gunpowder explosion which burns itself out and leaves you with nothing but the smell of smoke, genuine love is like a tiny ember which you tend and care fore until it becomes a raging inferno.

Let me put it this way...

Sex is a natural thing for humans. Like eating, drinking, or sleeping. And, like food, drink, or sleep, it's not something you can ignore.

However, you must realize that there are far more overeaters in america than there are undereaters (by choice). Far more suffer from alcoholism than dehydration. And narcolepsy is a more dangerous affliction than insomnia.

My point? Excess of something (like food, sleep, or sex) is often more harmful than too little. And it's almost always more likely.

I agree with FrodoFriend on that sex before marriage is okay, but sex too young shouldn't be done. I might have to be more specific on what's "young", though. I mean, I don't think 14 or 15 year olds should be having sexual relations, but a 16-year-old wouldn't exactly be bothering to me. Mostly because 16 is the age when you start getting more freedom and actual responsibilities from adults and parents alike.

I also have weird parents and can thankfully blame a good deal of my beliefs on them

Honestly would you want to get married to a girl that had slept with other guys. If you give something away to everyone it's no longer a special thing. Having sex before marraige destroys the only special thing you could have given your spouse.

I encourage you not to trade that for a few seconds of pleasure with a guy or girl you think you love. It is severely overrated in our culture.

Girls, If you want a guy to really like you. This is the last thing you want to do. Guy's do not respect girls that give in to sexual pressure they use them and then drop them. Don't cheapen yourself. Love comes only where there is first respect.

Okay, that's just silly. Religion is a completely voluntary action, and we're taught some simple truths that outweigh our desire for physical pleasure.

I always remember a lesson that I learned years ago; I had recently learned about lava and molten rock in my second grade (or so) class, and inquired to my father:

"Dad, if I put my hand in lava and then in water real fast, I'd be okay, right?"

"No, son." was his prompt reply.

"What if I go REALLY fast?" I persisted.

"No."

I thought he was a dolt. I knew that if you went fast enough, you'd be fine. But I was wrong. This may seem like a faulty comparison, but adjunct to my present beliefs, this exact situation is akin to adults warning youth about premarital relations, including, but not limited to venereal diseases and broken relationships.

to me i dont think it matters if my wife (future tense) is a virgin when we meet or not, i dont think its correct to judge anyone onwhat they once did, i think that if i dont love a girl i wont sleep with her if i do love her it wont matter if shes a virgin or not cause ill love her lol anyway as far as sex b4 marrage i think ill wait till i know im gonna marry her cause i dont want to mess up anyones life, cause as for me the worse i can do is pay child support but a girl can get pregnant and why would i want my kid to grow up with out a dad, so it not like i wont do it because its wrong but for other reasons
