Charles to marry Camilla

well, it has been announced that Prince Charles is to marry Camilla Parker-Bowles, and thus that Camilla will take up the role of Princess of Wales, Princess Consort and Duchess of Cornwall.

what do people think, bearing in mind that the monarch is the supreme head of the Church of England, and that Charles is thus a remarrying divorcee?

isn't that ability (divorce) one of the main reasons behind the formation of the church of england in the first place?

You are actually, though some clergy still don't like the idea. The Archbishop of Canterbury is going to bless the wedding anyway, so I guess he doesn't have a problem with it.

Also, she's not going to be Princess of Wales, only Duchess of Cornwall and then Princess Consort when he's king.

That would make Charle's Mom the head at the current time.

Charles himself is likely to be passed over for monarchial rule, so which of the "heir and a spare" would you prefer?

I'll take a brief time-out from not caring to ask... who cares?

Though I do feel badly for William and Harry, as I would for any kids who found themselves with their father's mistress as a stepmom.

No he's not. Doesn't work like that.

If you don't care, why post?

Happens to a lot of children. Anyway, I gather that William's attitude is the mature one that he'd rather have a happy Daddy with Camilla than a miserable one without her. Good for him.

Good for them too. They should have married right at the beginning. I think it's brilliant that they're finally marrying. Oh, and Charles isn't a remarrying divorcee. He's a widower.

I was taking a time out.

I guess I care a very small amount. I hope they're all happy anyway.

Okay I'm back to not caring now. I mean... it is their business.

I think it was time. It just was obvious that they wanted to marry, and I don't see why he should be denied what is allowed to everyone.
As far as the church, did not Henry VIII created the church of England precisely for this purpose?
