I used to be very anti-nudist, but now I don't really care. There is a time and a place though...

My brother wisely says, "Clothes are to protect other people." He's a wise fellow.

I think we need a new Imagining. Does anyone have one they'd particularly like to discuss? Otherwise I'm happy to think of one.

I think part of the problem of how people perceive nakedness IS due to our hang-ups with taking the kit off. If we were all naked, we'd re-learn 'what is beautiful', that's for sure. I mean... pornography, hollywood, etc, etc, aren't really accurate conceptions are they now? And for a lot of people, that's the level of exposure they're getting - it's pidgeon-holing the concept of beauty, people! Let it all hang out! Walk around your house naked! Reveal in our naked splendour!

True Bloogy

I have now experience the real act of bloogy bloogy bloogying. I took off all my clothes (even my glasses!), stood on my head (which was really hard), and quickly yelled "Bloogy bloogy bloogy!"

It was a lot of fun. It made me laugh. And you know what? I totally forgot that I was naked. This is probably due to the difficulties I had in standing on my head - I had to do it against a wall, and give myself a boost with a chair. I don't care so much about being naked (maybe it helps that I'm hot ) Yesterday when I was in the sauna, I was naked. I didn't care about it, but I was aware of it. When I was Bloogying, I was completely unaware of being naked, as a small child isn't aware of it.

BoP, you're totally right about nakedness in North American society. We need more Scandinavian saunas!

Maybe you could say I'm "true bloogy".

BoP, are you distracting the construction workers again? You know that building on the other side of the street, across your appartment is never going to get finished if you keep going on like this.

Imagine if we all played by the same rules we were taught in elementary school: Don't shove, share, ask nicely, wash your hands before you eat, don't say anything if you can't say anything nice, raise your hand if you have a question, celebrate holidays by making something out of construction paper, glitter, and Elmer’s glue, don't take cuts in line, take timeout for recess, learn something new, go home and tell someone what you've learned . . .

Hmph. I'll have you know that I'm living in a totally different apartment now, and it's just the librarians and the art gallery that get to perve. Anyway, the apartment-building was finished after I moved out. *sniff*

I thought of a new Imagining last night... in the wee hours of the morning. Maybe I'll let this one go on just a few posts longer, because it's super funny and I'm about to propose a serious one.

I just want to re-iterate that anything is possible in this thread, and you have to think outside of the (BoP's) box.

EDIT: I almost forgot the most important thing!

True Bloogy

Have you done it? Don't miss your change!

Well, Earthbound it would be rather nice if everyone did as you suggested BUT I merely want to point out that we do this in America under the rubric of "political correctness" because the reality is that the liberals want you to think that way until they can spring their bullies on you at recess or after school or in the lunchroom and make you do things their way (excuse me, the right way). Then they all go and get upset when you expose their actual deeds and fight back. "you're not nice" and "you don't play fair" are the rallying cries of all the graduates of Experiment House all over the world (cf THE SILVER CHAIR by CS Lewis) and the current headmistress thinks they are all interesting cases and never intervenes.

But I wasn't speaking Canadian, m'dear!

It's an Americanism - I prob. spelled it wrong, tho, it's pronounced with a long "a".

Okay, I think we've out-Bloogied ourselves. You still have the chance to True Bloogy, the door never closes on that one. *rimshot*

Imagine if...

Human beings are the only sentient beings in the Universe because the Creator made us as an experiment, only to be severely disappointed. After seeing us, the Creator decided to try something else!

Imagine...

- The scenario from the point of view of: the Creator, a human who just figured out what was really going on, or your own idea
- Why is the Creator disappointed in us?
- What is the Creator's new project? It can be anything!
- Something else cool that you thought of

Try any or all of the above! Your answers can be serious or funny.

EDIT: This is the eleventy-first post in this thread!

I think... the Creator is disappointed at the atrocities committed in His/Her/Its name, or maybe just atrocities in general. Maybe (select pronoun) She didn't want the dominant species on Earth to be so stupid as to actively choose the path towards the destruction of not only themselves, but all life on the planet they were given.
Maybe humans were actually not the best choice of dominant species for this experiment, or maybe all species were meant to be equal.
Maybe it annoys the Creator that one of the only kind/moral/whatever things that most humans do is the same thing that will eventually lead to our destruction (not allow a population crash, except there will be one anyway).
Perhaps the reason the Creator is disappointed is because we continually philosophise about the meaning of life, and yet it has been staring us in the face since the dawn of time (and I don't mean 42).

I think the new project for the Creator is something even better than a Universe! Out of perverse curiosity, She'll leave this one to its own devices, and check on it every millenia or so to see what happens.

If our pitiful minds were to attempt to grasp the Truth, we could ascend into this cool new project, the thing that's better than a Universe. The Universe can be contained inside it for fun and amusement.

Perhaps slightly off-key and off topic:

I always thought that Arthur C Clarke had interesting idea about the future of mankind.

That we all will someday transfer our minds to computors and then to spaceships and finally to the fabric of the cosmos itself.

Maybe that's not off-topic at all! In Babylon 5, humans eventually evolve into beings of energy! Maybe that's the Creator's next project... trying to redeem us somehow after eons of disappointment... or maybe we realize the Truth.

Go on GW... (Hey, that could stand for Gandalf the White too! Connection? I think so. )

You spammer, you could have just edited your last post!

Maybe you are Gandalf... Gandalf the Spammer!

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this, or is it too obscure/boring/irrelevant to everything?

If it is, propose a new idea, by all means... *sharpens sword*
Kidding! But not about proposing a new idea.
