I don't know. It could be the one I was thinking of in the first place. I can't remember who sang it originally, but I think the original is the version I know.

Warm and cozy, it will prove,
Round thee mother’s arms are folding,
In her heart a mother’s love.
There shall no one come to harm thee,
Naught shall ever break thy rest;
Sleep, my darling babe, in quiet,
Sleep on mother’s gentle breast.

Sleep serenely, baby, slumber,
Lovely baby, gently sleep;
Tell me wherefore art thou smiling,
Smiling sweetly in thy sleep?
Do the angels smile in heaven
When thy happy smile they see?
Dost thou on them smile while slumb’ring
On my bosom peacefully.

Mirial, I love your taste in music (or -- as certain unbelievers & old people would call it -- screaming into a microphone a lot).

Also, I stated in a previous post that my favorite song was Orion by MetallicA. I only stated one song because I thought that was the rule (title is favorite song -- not songs). But since everyone else is posting multiple songs I would like to change my mind (if that is not against the rules ).

I would like to extend my favorites to all of MetallicA's instrumentals --
-(Anesthesia) -- Pulling Teeth
-The Call of Ktulu (original and S&M version)
-Orion
-To Live is to Die

Even if you don't like MetallicA, I suggest you try to listen to some of these if possible. It's great stuff!

Treebeard...ditto.
Ipersonally like the more commercialized King Nothing by Metallica. Ilike people who scream into a microphone!

You rule, Durin's Bane! Those are some of my favorite songs too. Beatles Rule! Exept maybe Paul, who I am annoyed at because he canceled his concert here!

Yeah, Paul can be a jerk sometimes. John's totally cool, and Ringo is too. I got some info on The Beatles:

The Beatles wanted to be in a LOTR movie. Paul would be Frodo, John would be Gollum, George would be Gandalf, and Ringo would be Sam!

Yeah, I know. That would have been weird. I think there's an old thread around here somewhere on the Beatles and LOTR....

Have you listened to much outside the No. 1 album? Good to see another beatles freak.

Don't forget that while Paul can be a sanctimonious jerk, John could also be a right a##hole. Not to mention hypocritical - Working Class Hero, anyone?

I agree with you BoP. But, imho, the two of them wrote their best songs together, rather than alone.

My favorite songs are all Beatle songs. Too many to list, but my current fave is "In My Life."

Ha, ha, John was the only Beatle not working class! I've forgiven Paul now, can't stay angry at him for long. His songs were so good and he is so cute (at least in the sixties).

Durins Bane: you should listen to other Beatles albums. I recommend Revolver, A hard days night and Abbey Road.
