I used to think of the Beatles as highly overrated. I figured they must be if they were that talked-about. But no, I recently found out that they actually rock. What an excellent revelation for me. I don't have to be a spiteful little skeptic youth anymore!

Yes! I have been enlightened. I love The Beatles. I always sorta liked them...or liked the idea of them since I had only heard "Yellow Submarine" and "A Hard Day's Night". But my younger brother has recently become obsessed with them and so, has been buying all the cd's and dvd's he can get his hands on.

I really really love "Here Comes the Sun" and I plan on learning it on guitar very soon!

For me, there's only one band above Beatles, and that's Pink Floyd. I really like Beatles. THe music is really great.
I think Sgt Pepper is the best album. I haven't heard through all their albums, though.

My favourite Beatles album has always been Revolver, though Rubber Soul comes a very close second.

I am a pretty good authority on the Beatles...I grew up with them...
I have many favorite songs...

Strawberry Fields Forever
Hey Bulldog...(If you have not heard this one...IT ROCKS!!)
Revolution
...tons of them
I have all the CDs...all of the albums(I used to spin them backwards to hear...John say " Paul is dead, man...miss him, miss him". and "Turn me on deadman".)

Yeah, Revolver is an extraordinary good album. But I think the SGT Pepper is a bit front.

You know, I tried doing that with my CD, and all I got was this ghastly scratchy shrieking. ::tard::

Seeing the new thread entitled "Help" right next to the Beatles thread, it immediately reminded me of this song:

by The Beatles -

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me.

The Beatles are the bomb.

Yesterday, I was out walking, with The Beatles playing on my mp3. Red and Blue box. Ah, that was so beautiful. It was clouded, but suddenly the sun beguns peeking trhough, and then Here Comes The Sun started, and it was amazing.

Oh, beautiful Beatles' moment, Pytt.
I love those...
The most recent was last week walking home from class. It was night, and the moon was out, shining just very delicately on snow. AND then "Blackbird" came on...and that was so peaceful.
"Beatles" songs are capable of doing so much to my emotions, stupid things. But they're usually good ones. So I can deal with that.

I love the Beatles. For years they were the only music I really listened to. Then came stuff like Radiohead and Elvis Costello and things, but the Beatles will always be my favorite. They're just brilliant songwriters, and they're so witty and fun and it shines through in their music.

To all those people out there who believe the Beatles weren't actually that influential, you couldn't be more wrong. You can say that there were bands out there producing more inventive material and breaking more barriers, but no one is more immulated then the Beatles. Ask any great band out there what there top five influences are, and undoubtly the Beatles will be on that list. How can one they be overrated if the bands you DO listen to treat the Beatles as Gods? If your going to listen to anyones opinion, it should be the pratictioneers of the trade. Not some snooty music geek who thinks music is just about breaking some barrier. I admit, that's a goal for me as a musician, but I also just want to write good songs. No matter how good someone is at playing guitar, it doesn't mean they have bull to say or give to anyone. The Bealtes, however, are king in that area. They may not have been great musicians, but they had a lot to say and to give. They wrote songs. Not to please high minded music geeks or critics, but something that would be SOMETHING to someone. They broke barriers, inspired new generations of artists, helped music become recognized as an art form in the first place, but most of all just wrote songs that touched people. Overrated my frump.
