Oh speaking of Belgians... I doubt Earnial goes in this thread but if you do can you get me some bottles of WESTVLETEREN 12??? Do you live anywhere near De Vrede? They are IMPOSSIBLE to get here and every resource Ive tried has come up dry. So I think I need to go straight to a local source... Damn monks making small quantities of good beer...

We love Boddingtons in the can, the nitrogen charge makes it taste just like the pub.

Who me? Or Nazgul with the boddingtons? Thats a Chimay White. A wonderful beer. Although the Blue is better. No the beer I was talking about is a Westvleteren 12 which is a beer brewed by trappist monks in a tiny place called St. Sixtus in Belgium. They only make so much of it (they are monks after all not big mega producers) and it is considered one of the best beers in the world so its super popular and sells out very quickly and they have strict purchase and export rules about it so all the beer wackos like me trip over themselves to try to get a few bottles. As it stands now you really either need to go there or know someone from the area.
Heres what one looks like

Well no wonder. Chimay Blues are like 9%. Its like drinking two beers for every one. And what a waste of a good beer! Never understood why people would want to pound belgians... its like speed eating cavier or something. The whole point is to appreciate it you know? But it sounds like you had a good time at least. And thats worth something. Better to have learned from it then not done it at all I always say.

Yes, a waste indeed. Getting there was good but hitting the buffers and picking up the wreckage was a life lesson. Not made that mistake since!
