Rian: Whew, that got him done fast!
Shah: No kidding! Hey spock, you want to do us the honors and carve the duck? We'll wait for the others to come and say grace if that is their tradition, but you can do your Vulcan thing with the ducks!

*places the last dish on the table and sits down next to Sane*
Lady M: Pretty music. Goes well with the food. I've been wrestling with Tengwar calligraphy the last hour or so, really starting to feel sorry for Maedhros, calligraphy just doesn't work well from the left hand... *munches on a scone*

All: Aaaaahhhhhhhhh! Looks lovely! Rian: Well, before we eat, I'd like to thank the god of our subcreative world that we all love so much - thank you, JRRT, for creating Middle Earth, and going thru all that trouble to get it published so we could all join you in enjoying it, and meet each other, too! *raises glass* To Tolkien! *whispers to TD* and here's your present, TD - a calligraphy version of the poetry about Hurin that I posted on the Sil thread - enjoy!

Eärniel: *watching the orgy from a distance, twirling a padlock, talking to herself* Now, normally I would lock this thread and herd everyone over to the other party thread since that one was started earlier and still running. But I suppose this is the season to be... lenient.

*walks in carrying a huge, freshly roasted glazed ham, plunks on table*
Ciao, you guys. I brought a ham for those who like roast pig. And some Calvados; you guys like calvados? *sets up Baccarat crystal stemware in front of everyone, starts pouring each a glass of Calvados.* It goes real well with duck and pig and turkey... *does an imperceptible snatching manoeuvre and pockets Earniel's padlock. Looks around innocently. *

*Katt spies Eärniel twirling the padlock. In her current inebreated state, she doesn't register the padlock.*
Katt: Eärniel! You gets over here or you miss all the fud! Maggie: Katt, she's threatining us. Don't encourage her. Katt: Eärniel! Wat you doing way over there! *Katt gets up and takes a plate of food over to Eärniel.* Katt: Where you been? Have a party. Happy Christmas. |

*Pulls Earniel to the table and simultaeneously pulls out a box of See's Chocolates*
Lady M: Leniency and chocolate go well together I've always thought. Put away the padlock and join us.

Don't mention the padlock!!! Then she'll go to try & find it and realise it's gone. Don't blow my cover!
*tries to surreptitiously toss padlock into the mashed potatoes cooling over on the sideboard. Padlock lands - plop! - into the mashed potatoes; Lotesse gets a spatula and casually fashions the whipped peaks back into platter of mash.* So anyway... like that Calvados? It's apple brandy from France; very good stuff.

*kicks Earniel in the bum*
Shah: This one is way more fun...that other party thread is just too random. Come, join the madness and behold the glory of....food.

Joy to the world!
"They have that right!" Lief urged Eärniel. He then stopped paying attention to her, as the aroma of food rising from the table was too marvelous to be ignored. He began to serve himself, pulling pieces of pizza, burrito, turkey, duck, bread, and bowls of casserol and stuffing toward himself with the Force. "Joy to the world!" he began to sing, shortly before his words were drowned in the scarfing of food.
