Val did just post there. I can see his post perfectly. I think it's just one of those weird little glitches.

Why not use tv-actors or unknown upstarts from Shakespear theatercompany's?
I think the Silmarillion would make a very bad movie, even as a trilogy! But as a tv-series it'll be the gargantuan tv-showhit!!! If you could snatch a good director and producers for it.

Has anyone mentioned Jennifer Connelly for Luthien? I think she is the only actress who can play her part to the extreme. She has class, beauty, a little bit sorrow in her eyes, and also she is a right age (actress like Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley or Emma Rossum are extremely hot and may prove to be good choice in the future, but they are simply too young now).
I think Russell Crowe may be a candidate for Beren, but then it will be too similar to [Beautiful Mind] in which he starred with Jennifer Connelly. Plus, Russell may be just too old to be Beren. Eric Bana from [Troy] is what I think my ideal actor for Beren, though James Caviezel from the [Count of Monte Cristo] would do a good job too I guess. Joaquin Pheonix ain't handsome enough for Maedhros I think, cause I would imagine Maedhros to be quite handsome elf prince. Patrick Wilson from [The Phantom of the Opera] would be a good choice. He is quite handsome yet carrying a bit of tragic in his eyes, as he would portray a character like Maedhros who has a kind heart yet bound tragically to an evil oath very well. Finrod is a very interesting choice. I think David Wenham who played Faramir in [Lord of the Ring] movies is a great choice, yet since all these stories are related it is logical to avoid using the same actors/actresses as different roles. I would say Ioan Gruffudd who played Lancelot in [King Arthur] is a good choice. I would say the best choice for Turin is Keanu Reeves, though he probably won't get everything out of this character because he ain't an extremely good actor in terms of acting skills. Colin Farrell will do a good job with Tuor, but he probably needs to up his acting skill too. But Tuor is a much easier person to act than Turin, cause his individual characteristic ain't as strong. from Jim Su |
