Handguns, Guns and Rifles Thread
Here's a gun thread, for gun-lovers and gun-haters to hash it out on. I just thought I'd start this thread and lean back, and watch the fur fly.
This pic here is of a military model M9 Beretta 9 mm: Should handguns be more controlled, and if so, in what way, and why? What's your favourite gunmaker, and why? Do you hate guns, and how come? What do you think about tragedies like Columbine, and what do you attribute it to? ohhh, this is gonna be INteresting...

I don't believe in gun control, but I believe that guns should be controlled. Discussion?

How should they be controlled, though? What exact control measures should exist, in your opinion, that do not already exist now? Are today's control measures sufficient, or not, and why? Or why not?

No, I just mean that you shouldn't give BTK a permit to buy a submachine gun...

oh... well i don't think any civilian should have a submachine gun, but when i say gun control i mean being able to use a gun, you know point it at something and hit at least in the general direction of wher you r aiming.
but as i said before even submachine guns are meaninless to the power of the darkside

In Norway, we're still debating whether the POLICE should be armed. At the moment, they have to apply to their superiors for a permit if they are expecting a situation where they may need a gun.
One of the arguments against them having their own gun available at any time (like the Police has in Sweden), is that it may accerbate (?) the climate and cause more use of guns among the criminals. Hunters need to pass a test and to get a permit to own a gun, and there are rules for how guns should be stored in the home.
