Indeed! You picked up on that; I'm impressed! I posted that particular O'Keefe on purpose, and wondered if anyone would "get it." And you did!

No, the flower one was by O'Keefe. The one we haven't got is the one with the skull.

That's because I'm usually not very fond of his work , although this one is nice. The (obvious) name of it is "The Ship" if I'm not mistaken.

It's by Georges La Tour, done in 1598 I think. La Tour made all sorts of paintings with this candlelit, pensive theme. This one is freakin' amazing to see in person; it hangs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Well, here's another lovely painting to guess. Should't be too hard.

Paul Gauguin! Did I spell his name right; I get the uncomfortably embarrased feeling I spelled Gauguin wrong. It's gotta be Tahitian Women of some sort, I'd never remember an actual correct title.

Yep, you spelled it right. It's "femmes de tahiti"-- which translates to Tahitian Women.

Is it Breughel - oh yes, now I KNOW I spelled that name incorrectly. Bruegel? That painter - dutch, was he? or German. From the middle ages. O.K., I'll pass on this one...

Not Brueghel (who was Flemish-- don't want to make Earniel mad). It was a Dutch guy, though.

Just for interest, the reason I thought of Gauguin is because I'm taking a Polynesian dance class and we're studying Tahiti right now.
