Hmmm, I think that US English and UK English are more different than German German and Austrian German.
I mean, we have the same dictionaries and everything.
In English sometimes words are spelt a different way in the UK and the US. We don't have that.
It's just two or three words which are different. And some colloquial words.

Hmm, it is different with Switzerland. They use a lot of words we don't use.

Lin, I'm ignoring that comment of yours.

I've just put the singular in, because Indonesian plurals are mostly formed by doubling the word (which may be a tad monotonous for this).
I'm not sure if the words for lorry etc exist in the language, so I've left them blank.

been spelling it wrong?

Sorry, I spelled it wrong.

(And I've put backgroundpictures on first and book/filmlist pages now to flesh them out a bit. Have a look.)

Lin, ich kenne nichts, das so schön ist wie du!

Ich könnte tagelang von dir erzählen
I could talk about you for days

ohne deinen namen auch nur einmal zu erwähnen
without mentioning your name just once

unter Schmerzen oder unter Tränen
With pain and with tears

würde dein Name als meine Linderung dienen
Would your name be my healing (not really healing, abatement says the dictionary)

jede deiner Bewegungen sind erstrebenswert
All of your movements are desirable

und jede Stunde mit dir ist so lebenswert
And each hour with you is so worth living

Heheh, that's just for you.

Danke, Lai! Let me know if you ever need a translation from English to...errr...English.

Du är en ganska märklig person, Grey! Quoting such a long post. Å, och på dina sidor kan jag se dina bilder. De är mycket fina! Varför bor din syster i Canberra? Det är inte så intressant, tror jag.

Min syster bor Canberra därför att hennes man är australiensare. Dom flyttade dit för två år sedan. Innan hade dom bott i Thailand (Charlotte, nu 14 år), Malaysia (David, nu 12 år), Schweiz, Taiwain (Julian, nu 7 år) och Frankrike (hans karriär gjorde att de inte kunde bo på ett ställe mer än 18 månader).

Well, it's the least I can do for all you have done for me.

I would still say -loose- if it wasn't for you. Hehehe.

Now that I see all these titles together it's actually strange that the Dutch one seems to be the only one that isn't a straight translation of 'Lord of the Rings'. I say 'seem' because I can't be sure of the exact meaning of the swedish and finnish because 1) I don't know those languages and 2) can't compare them to other languages to get at their meaning.

My 'Encyclopedic Atlas of the world' disagrees with you. It says that in Luxemburg, the people speak German, French and Luxemburgian.

The Finnish title means The story of the Lord of the Rings, if that makes any sense.

The Swedish title means "The ruling ring", if I'm not much mistaken...

Yay! The Swedish translation got a lot of bad critic, even Tolkien himself disliked it.
