You said: "Catholics don't recruit - anyone is welcome to go to the church without feeling any pressure whatsoever to "join" . So many of the other Christian religions are almost like cults and blindly follow what they are taught without question."

As the "other" was after you were talking about Catholics, I took it that you meant Protestant denominations.
I still don't see the association between protestant and catholics - I was talking abotu christian religions in general - particularly the Pentecostal and more cultish type religions (although I have gotten it from Lutherans and Baptists too)

NOTE: 2) Caring as in - their beleifs don't cause me to judge them or affect how I look at them as a person.

3) If I said I believed in Zeus and Aphrodite and the greek gods you'd think I was mad. What's really the difference? One set of gods were replaced by a single god- but it's all the same. It's just man attempting to explain things we don't understand yet.

4) And heaven, hell and god is just opinion too and no one can prove or disprove.

5) I don't think so either- I wish there were though.

6) I was also burnt out from heavy debating because of the Iraq thread. I wanted to have some fun with the Entmoot Most Wanted, The Jona-thong Website, the Entmoot Rebellion and the MudWrestling Competition.

7) I'm not going to hell - I've never done anything wrong. 8) So if there is a god, it shouldn't require devine devotion - it should only require people to be the best person they can be - that is all. People should just be kind to one another and forget the religious crap and everything in between. Just be nice to your fellow man.

9) I'm not sure exactly what you're getting at here. I'm not at all anti-Christianity. Because I went to Catholic school all my life and was raised catholic - I still associate with the catholic religion and it annoys me when people criticise it - even if I don't believe in a god.
1) Yeah, I was mainly thinking you, Artanis, and to a lesser extent Sheeana (though she hasn't really posted enough to go either way )
2) -nods- Pretty well agree with this.
3) Goodness me, what makes you say that? Coney's Pagan, and I don't think he's mad.
4) Precisely my point.
5) Ditto. As it is, I have little to learn of Islam (except of course for that Q'uran, but I doubt I'll get around to that any time soon.
6) I can certainly understand that.
7) Wow, that's quite an achievement.
8) Devotion, I agree with. But to me it makes sense that, if there is a God, a supreme, divine, omnipotent, transcendent (so on and so forth) Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, it would require something more than being a nice person to truly reach Him.
9) Wasn't referring to you.

1) Certainly agreed.
2) I thought you meant "other Christian religions besides Catholicism", which doesn't leave very much but Protestants.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but GW, your style of response is REALLY hard to read. (I don't so much mind if it's numbers 1-3, but when you're reaching lengths of 7+ it's quite hard to keep coherent thought when jumping from top to bottom.) Could you either go back to quotes, or use less numbers? (I notice that Rian only generally tends to use 3-4 points to respond per post. Perhaps you could do that?)

Hobbit knows what he's talking about! When posts get too long winded, full of numbers and quotes, most people don't read them. Keep it "real" people!

Sorry. Will try to do this in the future. Though the dimwitted give no guarantees.

She's a Coney propagandist, for the up and coming JD v. Coney Mud Wrestling match. Kinda like I'm a JD propagandist.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm thinking of defecting!

Heh...that was a bit confusing, wasn't it? I really need to work on clarity.

I meant that I put the "most" in their because of you, JD, and (to an extent) Sheeana, mainly, as you were not bashing.
