Menya zovoot Anders (Russian)
I would write it using the cyrillic alphabet, but I am on a public computer.

That Polish symbol didn't come out right. The last /e/ is meant to look like an /e/ with a cedilla, not a circumflex.
Eärniel, do you know why the Flamenco art form is named after the Flemish? (And that Flamenco is also a Brazilian soccer team?) Last edited by Linaewen : 02-05-2004 at 06:15 AM. |

Anders comes from the Greek word andros, which means 'man'. I see that linguistic course I had last year wasn't totally useless

Are you only interested in the Dreamtime, or the native Australian languages as well? Because I think you'd have a heart attack trying to learn them, (Words taking 4 cases simultaneously? ), but then not many people can speak much of them anymore. |

There are many native languages going to be lost a a few years. It's a pity, really.

Yes, it is a pity. There have been thousands and thousands of languages and now only about 6,000 are spoken. And probably a lot of them have no more than a handful of speakers (such as the Aboriginal languages). Falagar, I don't know about you, but the idea of using 4 cases at a time terrifies me. |
