Close. But Menelvagor is the 'Swordman of the Sky' - which doesn't really fit.

Thanks. It was my first riddle - and I wasn't sure whether I wrote it with enough info or not - so I gave a few clues. The next one will be harder.

A queen in Gondor,
That her name is unknown,
Sent spies to the enemy,
And because of them she's in my poem.

Not the best rhyming again.. good luck in the guessing!

Well... I'm quite disappointed. Nobody even guessed. Is it too hard?

Well the only queen of Gondor I remember in connection with spies is queen Beruthiel but she doesn't really fit the poem IMO.

Perhaps a hint?

Beruthiel is correct. Explanation: Beruthiel means 'queen', I think, and that's her name because her real one was forgotten. Also, she sent her cats to spy in Osgiliath.

Well, what do you know.... I remembered the spying cats but since 'Beruthiel' seemed pretty much a known name to me I thought it didn't fit the riddle.

Actually UJ, in THIS thread, anyone can post a riddle anytime - and there's no obligation to post one when you solve. It's different from the trivia threads in that way. So we can have multiple riddles we're working on.

The big riddler, 'Keith K' hasn't been around for awhile.

EDIT: so try your hand if you like!

Born of fire, and so I died,
With kin at hand, and kin outside.

Short, but sweet. I'm being obscure here though...

Intriguing... and seems quite good. Must give it some thought.

Hm, sounds like Fëanor. (And since you asked for a riddle, I'll see if I can dig one up for tomorrow. )
