Finally, after over a month, it looks like Smaug has somewhat accepted the new kitten. We *think* we caught them playing together.

This would be so great! Tyrfing is just dying for somebody to play with him, and Smaug could really do with company she doesn't resent.

One cat down, another still to go. And that psycho-pus may be one tough nut to crack...

This snippet from a movie review for "Twilight" made me laugh SO HARD because I have a (possibly unfounded) dislike for vampire fantasy in general. The dislike being based on the fact that vampire romances are completely retarded.

"Based on the foundational book in Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling multivolume series, “The Twilight Saga” (four doorstops and counting), this carefully faithful adaptation traces the sighs and whispers, the shy glances and furious glares of two unlikely teenage lovers who fall into each other’s pale, pale arms amid swirling hormones, raging instincts, high school dramas and oh-so-confusing feelings, like, OMG he’s SO HOT!! I drove around the city and some outside towns for about two hours last night... not really 'thinking' but just kind of... not thinking, I guess? I was out till 1:30 a.m.

I realized a lot of things about myself. I've also made some decisions based on how I feel, and one of those is that I'm going to try for the Metropolitan Opera regional auditions in a few years... So I'm going to start working out, training my voice even more, and trying to get some parts in local shows/opera stuff (I've already gotten a role in the chorus for an opera this summer!).

I may never make it, but if I do it wont be because I didn't try. And if I'm going to try, I'm going to do it right. I'm going to train so that I can't say I didn't work hard enough, and I'm going to work out so that I'll actually -look- the manly baritone part.

Making this decision makes me happier and feel even more purposeful than I have in a while. I've known I wanted to do it for a while, but not really had a good, set out 'plan' for reaching it. Now I'm formulating that plan.

Lets do this thing.

Life hasn't quite defeated me yet. These times are like two bowls - one filled with punch and the other with the punch spiked, sometimes you can expect poison from it and other times an upset stomach. Everyday presents its own new possibilities, and that is what keeps me going the most.
