I have a question, Valandil, for later. What texts are accepted in this? Obviously LotR, The Silmarillion and The Hobbit, but can we include things from Unfinished Tales, The Children of Húrin and HoME as well?

We could, you know, use two categories in the next game: a basic one with Hobbit, LoTR and the Silmarillion, and an difficult one with UT, Children of Húrin and HoME. Whoever posts the quote could just put 'basic' or 'difficult' above the quote. You get an inkling then which group of books the quote is from, but it would be fairer for people who haven't read the second group of books to know which quote they can tackle. The new quote is coming up tomorrow. Too late too think straight now. EDIT: Maybe I should just start the quote in a new thread, since we've nearly reached the 1000 replies anyway...

I like that idea, Eärniel. And there's no reason that people who haven't read it couldn't guess it. They could simply figure out the words and phrases, and if you've read the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales they should know most of the characters anyway.
