Hi, Willow
Yeah, this is going to be awkward.

Perhaps a bit. Don't worry. I only plan to use this account when posting for the character. Just one of those things.

See? Not so awkward. Similar names happen. It could be worse.

Oh, so it's you!
Hehe, but I'll have fun with the similar names when Eresse meets you

Serenoli, the text is fine, no edits necessary.
Now for something completely different, this may be only a silly problem but it does bothers me somewhat. I've noticed a certain difference writing style between the old crew and the new members. The constant switching from one to the other is a rather bothersome when you're reading through a few pages. The old crew, like me writes, mostly in a sort of script form, with the naration between ** or in italics, and spoken dialogue following the name of the speaker. The new crew writes mostly (like most other RPG's are done) in full naration. I would very much like if we all would use the same method of writing. Personally I would prefer the script form as that's what we're using from the beginning, but I'm willing to leave the decision which method to use either to democracy or the captain. But I would really like some consistancy either way.

*BB sipped his black coffee pondering if he could be arsed going to get some milk... the day was creeping by and he was weary, outside it was as changeable as England ever is, sunny and windy with sudden tempestous heavy squalls of rain lashing against the window ... fast shape forming fluffy clouds reel past on an otherwise still pond of blue *
Eärniel: "is this relevant?" *rolls eyes ... nice eyes i'm sure * BB *sips coffee*: "anyone ever tell you that you have nice eyes?" ... what, like that? Is that the sort of thing? You can still have narration but the form is between: *the Narrator was in a talkative mood* for description et al, and ... ... Narrator: "hello! " for speech / dialouge? *said the narrator in a deep silky voice* *BB wonders vaguely if this is right?* |

also .. is this something we can ease in .. to make a smooth transition to the new style, rather than jolt from one to the other (that is, new for those that are ...new ... not new for the rpg, for, for the rpg it isn't new, but for those who are new it is new .. for those that write in the old fashioned way, i mean...)
can there be an easing-in period of a week or so just for those 'finding their feet' as it were? Personally, i see no debate here, if that is the form of the rpg then so be it. Unless as Eärniel says the XK is happy to go one way or another or fuse the two? Last edited by Butterbeer : 08-28-2006 at 07:53 AM. |

ndeed, I agree with Eärniel. I noticed this a while ago, but as has been shown I'm not always capable of expressing myself without sounding annoyed.
The script format gioves you greater freedom to interact. It is, I think, because of this format that in this RPG there is some use of other people's characters. See I noticed how the new members will post their character speaking one line, in answer to someone else, with little or no dialogue from any other characters. That's fair enough. I know some games don't permit you to use each others characters. As BB says, this is the form of the RPG. Eärniel, Willow, Katt and I will remain using it and as Eärniel said it would be much appreciated if you all did the same. BB...I think a break in period would work. Give y'all a chance before we keelhaul ye...hee

It would be nice if everyone wrote in the script format, since that's the way this game has always been played. It would flow better in reading.
