I just came back from town where I saw a bride and cute kids, bought myself an ice cone (which is rare because I don't really like ice cream) and then had to fight with the wind on the way back on my bike. Happiness

You have to play as in act/sing in a play, or you have to go out for something fun today?

Some folks get together once a month in the winter and rent a rink for a few hours. I'm not exactly getting big air on the half-pipe.

But I try not to miss.

I took a course, years ago, to make sure my transition from skates to blades went without incident.

Wait a sec... I looked at your post and it gave me a strange vibe. Rightly so, because when I googled it, it turns out that what you call roller-blading is what we call skating... >_<

It's more the "roller" part that does it. In Dutch, it's called "rolschaatsen".
And left is simply where your thumb is right and right is where your thumb is left. Simple!

What according to google is "skating", here we call skate-boarding. Now I understand why I sometimes got strange replies or looks when I say that I'm going out skating...

I started with the strap-ons, continued with the roller skates and changed to the blades when I was 11 I think. I remember my first pair... the wheels were fluorescent yellow, pink, green and orange and the boots were black with those colours. I completely destroyed those.

By the way, I also learned ice-skating with strap-ons before moving on to normal skates on which you can make pirouettes etc. and from there on to long-distance ones. We call those "noren" here.
Aww, drat! You made me want to go out! But it's dinnertime soon... >_<
