I've only seen the short summaries of the songs at the end, and from what I saw the Norwegian one was actually one of the better. Says it all, really.

Hehe, the Greek singer is actually a Swede

Sweden on the other hand did its worst contest in many years. I quite expected it.
I was hoping for Israel to win. They were in the lead for a short while but ended up 5th I think.

I heard Lebanon was going to be in the contest but had to be excluded since they refused to broadcast the Israelian song . Too bad, I had wanted to see more new countries. Nice to see Moldova get as many points as they did, considering this was their first time.

And the Belgian singer was actually a Portuguese.

Didn't watch this year, must be a first. Never even heard the song we sent in in the first round. I only watched the last two songs and the voting. Belgium should not-participate more, I seldom had such fun while listening to the points being given. So predictable at some points it was almost funny. I suppose it's easier to deal with the ugly thing Eurovision has become when your country isn't participating. And nobody seems to care about the actual singing anymore, only about the 'innovating' act. Pity.

And why is it that countries like France, Germany and the UK can always participate no matter how bad they score the previous year? (at least that's what the commentators said) And why not Belgium? I want either less corruption or more chance to participate in it!

Is this the first year Andorra and Monaco participated? I noticed them during the voting but I can't for my life remember them ever hearing a song from them before.

britain, france, spain and germany always take part because we pay for it!

but isn't it strange how the baltic countries vote for each other, the scandinavian countries vote for each other, the balkan countries vote for each other etc...

4th. I think she was very good, overall... (she was 2nd in our version of 'American Idol') Yeah, I almost thought we'd win too. I didn't really think Greece was good at all. I suppose most people did think so though... otherwise they wouldn't have won, because although the competition is not 'fair' - I mean, Portugal always give 12 points for Spain, Cyprus-Greece, allthe ex-USSR new countries vote for each other, ex-Yoguslavia, Scandinavia, etc... was rather annoying at points. But... fine. I think they should'nt have given the audience the rights to choose - noticed that until '99 we were really good in Eurovisions, since then we got from 12 to 20-something, only this year with a really good song - 4. Can't really be a coincidence.. but... *shrug* I suppose I really don't care.

But they're not a part of Europe, anyway... how can you call it 'Eurovision' this way?

Fine, we aren't either - but we're considered as part of it in sports too.. so...

... and Ireland and the UK usually help one another out with some points. Hardly anyone gave the UK any points this year but Ireland gave you 8!!

No you aren't European, so be quiet

Btw, Morocco participated once in the 80's.

And there lies our problem - we don't have an area. Unfortunately, the only country that's somehow close, Cyprus, seems to ignore us 'traditionally' as the paper puts it. Though, I suppose France always gives us 10 points. And I think we gave the French 5 ourselves - about 1/3 of their points overall. It's all politics in other words. In a way.

We'd like Morocco to participate again. We only received votes from France, Portugal and... Andorra (12 points! ). I'm sure that the votes from Andorra came from Spanish people on the borders calling to the Andorran phone number

We gave our 12 to Romania, and it's said that it was due to the large number of romanian inmigrants we have in Spain.

in future we can skip the so-called music, and go straight to the voting,
i am sure the results will be the same!

Yeah, especially as all the music's *ehem* anyway.

The important thing to come out of Britain's performance is that we know it was well and truly, you know, pants. We didn't get few enough points to be able to claim that Europe 'didn't get our music', but we didn't get enough to look anything but a complete joke. We can't blame supporting the war for it either, because of France and Germany. No excuses - we sucked miserably.

Go Malta!

the real thing is our main political allies in europe are greece and germany (harking back to the times of royalty, ie House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and Prince Phillip of Greece), which isn't enough to give us any points, and greece are too busy giving points in the rest of the balkans to give us any, not that i am suggestin countries only vote politically

The Ukranian song was interesting - I only heard it on the radio, I didn't see it, but the mixture of politics and music makes you look at Eurovision a bit differently.
