IR: No, I am saying that I believe that the God and the Goddess are from Wiccan religion.

Sminty: Nope, it's Neo-pagan.

No, I didn't think it was silly. I've been wondering why you had so much against it...

I think the earth goddess concept predates wiccanism by probably tens of thousands of years if not hundreds of thousands actually. so i wouldnt give them the monopoly on it. its like saying mormons have the rights to the salvation idea.

Nope, Neo-Paganism isn't the same as Paganism.

No, I wasn't referring to the Earth-goddess/mother concept. That most definitely is far older than Wicca. I was referring specifically to the God and Goddess of Wicca.

*cough*off-topic*cough*

*ahem* did i say anything?

Someone needs to remind me I'm not a mod. . .

Right, so, vampires. Funny, I go away for a few weeks, I come back and suddenly there's vampire stuff all over the moot. Odd...

hmm, let me see. . .

Louis: oh, look at me, i'm this angsty demon of starlight, and i am sooo much better than you mortals. but i was not always this way! i used to be a poor mortal like yourself. . .blah, blah, blah, whine, whine whine.

Lestat: I am a beautiful demon of starlight, full of immortal angst for not being given a choice and an annoyingly superior additude, but at least i'm sexy.

Okay, so it's mainly Louis who bugs me, he's so whiny. Sure, being a vampire isn't all fun, far from it, but still. . .But my main complaint with the movie is that they Turn a child. You just don't do that. The Turning of underage persons should not be allowed. . .i mean, see what happens when you do that? *sigh*

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie. However, I just found parts of it laughable, and besides, Louis is quite annoying. Get over yourself, Louis!

added about 3 seconds later:

and then there's the coffins. what's wrong with a normal bed and some heavy black curtains, eh?

I liked Louis. I would hate that. I don't think I could stand having to sustain myself on human blood...

Actually, THEY don't. Lestat does. But that did rather horrify me too.

Well of course he has a right to be angsty and not want to feed off the blood of mortals. Except that Lestat gave him a choice, and HE made the decision to allow Lestat to conk him. He should have thought about it more carefully. I mean, if you're given the choice, you can't really go whine about it later, and even if you do, well, he was especially whiny. Eh, oh well. I just didn't like Louis that much. I did, however, really like Lestat

Yeah, I know, that was his failing. But when one is about to die, I doubt one is thinking very clearly. But I do agree with you, pretty much. 'Cept I don't really like Lestat. Can't forgive him for what he did to the little girl.

I'm probably one of the very few Christians who'll say this out loud, but I am aware that "magick" as it is known exists, though it works in subtle ways rather than being direct, which is not to say that it cannot be powerfully misused. I utterly condemn its practice, and furthermore do consider Wicca as a pagan religion, the consort of the Mother Earth being Satan. It is my sincere belief that anyone who abides by its tenents will only find damnation, and those who toy too freely with "magick" - I just hope that you run into an honest-to-goodness shade. That tends to cure this malady known as human curiosity.

Welcome to the Entmoot, Bryant. I am also a Christian, and I believe that magick is real, as well.

heh, just a word of wisdom: It's cool that you have strong beliefs and all, but it may not get the best acceptance if you come in, and the day you join, first post, condemn a religion that people on here practice....

take a knife and stick it in your head.

anyways. my current boyfriend used to play that vampire game before he moved to Michigan. Like makeup, fangs, black clothes etc. but he's a little bit more conservative now.

what is this obsession with darkness that people have?
christ, people... i've seen my friends be thrown into a wall full force with no one else in the room. stay out of it and go home.

im going to go make tuna.

Darkness is fascinating. It draws us in, a remainder of what we are and what could be - that goes both in greatness and in horror. It terrifies us, but it also allures us and the greatest part of its terror is to realize when you identify with the so-called villians at times.

Rather than go off-topic, I would like to provide a link about a more suitable topic here.

True, whether or not we like it, we all can and are attracted by the dark side, nomatter if it is the super-natural, or real life. I think it begins young as well. Does this not explain things like children wanting to hear ghost stories, our love of scary movies, etc?
