It looks like coffee may even be good for us, it's possible that it may help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/2416451.stm

Seems a good enough reason to have another pot to me

Never heard of Starbucks

Italians have good coffee, as do Viennese, but I still prefer that of my own country. (We have quite a selection available)

Interesting, though typically for the BBC, their site does not include any indication of quality screening of the research. Most health web sites are more interested in the story than the truth.

However, there is good evidence to suggest that, if you're not pregnant or hypertensive, coffee can prevent Parkinson's and colon cancer:

(Bandolier have a rigorous quality control policy on their info; www.eBandolier.com)

cheers,

D.

To those fans of Dune and Caffeine:

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Brazil that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

this is the second all-nighter pulled within eight days of each other (I know, not healthy, but the papers need to be done. I'm only here as a study break, tho' I should be taking my breaks away from my computer). Surprisingly enough, I've made the first with only one cup of coffee, and it looks like I'm going to make it through this one with out a coffee craving. Although, I'm thirsty for some good water. My campus has lousy water. bleh. Rambling...

A warning, stay away from Indonesian coffee, you never know what you may be drinking…

A coffee that wouldn’t found many fans in the West:
“The Luwak (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) denizen of the coffee (kopi) plantations of Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi, eats only the ripest coffee cherries.
Unable to digest the coffee beans the Luwak graciously deposits them on the jungle floor where they are eagerly collected by the locals.
The stomach acids and enzymatic action involved in this unique fermentation process produces the beans for the world’s rarest coffee beverage.”

You can find all kinds of people in this world…

So that's what the animal is called. Thanks!

This type of coffee you don't need to be worried about drinking accidentally. It's a bit expensive and highly sought after that no one would just slip you one.

I'd like to try it at least once if I get the chance. It'd go well with balut, sisig, and betute. Wait a minute...beer goes better with those...oh well.
