Tripods are great to have. I should've had one when I took this shot, but I couldn't be bothered.. :

a friend in the cathedral in Uppsala, Sweden. I was there for a short course on social insect pathogens..

These guys are a couple of friends who also attended the course.

I got back to Helsinki on all saint's day. So I put on my cloak, grabbed a couple of friends and went to the cemetary to take some photos. There are always so many candles there then..

A Request

At the moment Im working on a great project.

It involves the shrinking of full-size photographs to a smaller one. The reason for this endevour is that on another forum a member has asked me to do this because the members there only have dial-up connections and it takes too long to download full-size photographs.

The size Im trying to shrink the photos to is the so-called Medium (320 x 240).

I have used my photobucket account to do this work so far, but have installed Photoshop Elements in order to do it on my computor.

Ive now tried time and again to make the photographs smaller - and have succeeded in the program only to shrink them, but when I check the photo in the file-manager Explorer it has not shrunk at all.

This is confusing me. I do not understand why it does not work.

Could any of you help me with this problem?

Most Obliged,
GW

Have you saved the file once you've shrunk it? (It may sound silly, but I sometimes do this myself and then wonder why it's not working.) I don't know Photoshop elements, but in my graphic programme you have a function that shrinks the photo on screen without actually shrinking the file. Maybe a similar mix-up happened here?

Yes, I have saved - and yet it is not smaller. And my other reason for doing it in the program would be to do several photos at a time. I have yet to do this because of the troubles with doing it with one pic.

Indeed just as you said, there might be just such a mix-up.

I guess the only recourse is to do it on Photobucket one at a time or perhaps there might just be a way to resize several photos at a time, Im not really sure.

Thanks for ur reply.

Greywolf,

That picture you took of the wire/light tree makes me think of Bilbo's party tree for some reason . It's a lovely photo!

you shouldn't probably play with most of them.. the carpet python is at least not poisonous, though, so that one you could probably handle. they are beauties, though..

Unless you can actually remember that rhyme, "red on yellow kill a fellow, red on black... don't... lick it's... back... yellow on red... kick it in the head...." .... or.... however that goes....

ANYWAYS... my point is NO PLAYING WITH SNAKES, Mari .
